Description
This is an album that I made for my mom, for Mother's Day 2006. It is about her mother, my Grandma Helen, who used to live with us before she passed in 1991. Grandma was notorious for handwriting recipes. These recipes still linger in my mom's recipe drawer, so I made a tribute album about my grandma and included what reminded me most about her.
Journaling on the back page reads:
Mom- I just wanted you to know that you are the greatest Mother. I know this is an unusual Mother's Day gift, but I wanted you to have something special to remind you of your mother and the impact she had on our lives. I loved that Grandma Helen lived with us and we got to see first hand what she was all about, which made it easy for me to make this scrapbook. I loved reliving Grandma's younger years and see her grow older in pictures. There are things that I never knew about Grandma and I cherish every memory I have of her. The boggle...singing in church...quilting...coffee at Blair House...when she would get together with Aunt Emma and have the time of her life, the same way I do with my sister. Thanks for opening your home and giving us some great memories. I love you, Mary.
