Altering Little Hinged Boxes 22 comments

Everyone has their favorite companies, a style they gravitate towards.  I like cute, bright, childish, and fun.  For years, my favorites have been pretty static...but from their very first release, I have been enamored with Imaginisce.  They've most certainly become one of my very favorite companies.  This is evidenced by the fact that they have expanded to two paper shelves in my scrap room (an esteemed honor held only by two other companies.)    Twitterpated combines some of my current obsessions (hedgehogs and mushrooms) with  the richest colors.  It's a scrappers dream.

I'm always on the look out for things to alter.  It's become a passion.  While strolling through the local craft store, I found these little hinged boxes.  My 6 year old is currently sporting a very loose tooth, and these little boxes are perfect for her to hide it in (from her younger sister mostly) until she can safely tuck it under her pillow for the tooth fairy.  It took less than an hour to put together, and it's absolutely adorable now that it's complete.  (We're going to give this one to a friend, because being the hardcore princess she is, Bella opted for Imaginisce's Fairest of Them All line for her tooth box.)

After the tooth box, I decided to make another altered item that would match it for one of my daughters best friends. Kaiser makes altering simple and fun.  Already prepped and ready, their Beyond the Page line is high on my list of "must haves" on a regular basis.  This is the Floral Hanging Keepsake...and I love it.

Cards, cards, cards.  Having made a commitment to use as much of one line as I possibly can for each reveal, I was able to sneak a few cards out of the scraps.  Because only two sides of the papers refer to spring, the rest can be used for any occasion.  Imaginisce's Snag 'em stamps are the perfect accent to any card and at 99 cents,  you don't have to settle for just one!

And finally, a layout!  Yes, a layout.  I haven't done a layout in ages.  But, the Twitterpated line was so much fun to work with, it inspired me to create a layout of Ava.  We had been looking for frogs along the Mississippi riverbank last sping and I snapped this picture of her.  Always one to be dirty, messy, and playing with the boys, these papers fit her photo perfectly.

I really hope you find some fun and useful ideas for your Imaginisce in this article...and if you don't have any Imaginisce, GET SOME!
