One of the wonderful things about Basic Grey is that there are so many cool elements to chose from in one line and all of them match perfectly!! That makes it super easy to put pages together! I am NOT a scrapper that can scrap quickly. It usually takes me a couple of hours to do a page so when I have a reveal I work on it for about a week. This time around, with my dad getting sick, I could not do my reveal (THANK YOU PAM!!!) when it was supposed to be done, and when I got back I could not seem to get in the groove. Um yeah, until I realized it was due the very next day!
Honestly any other time, any other reveal, I am not sure I could have pulled it out. But like I mentioned above, with Basic Grey, everything coordinates so well, and the choices are so great, that it made it almost ( I did tell you I am a sloooow scrapper right?? LOL) easy to make three pages in one day. :)
For this layout of Cole drawing our dog Ariel, I really wanted to make the word sketch pop! I used some of the ribbon tape (absolutely GORGEOUS btw) and cut two pieces 6.5 inches long. I then layered them one on top of the other so the bigger alphabet would fit.
One of my absolute favorite parts of every Basic Grey line is the 12x12 sticker sheets. Each one will contain a number of border stickers as well as many other coordinating stickers. For this layout, I did not want to use a whole border sticker, as i already had it in my head I wanted to use a punch that resembled grass. So I took one of the border stickers and I cut it into smaller sections to use alongside my paper strips.
This I SPY layout really shows how easy it is to use multiple patterned papers from Basic Grey lines on one page. On this page I used five different sheets of paper. I used a larger circle cutter and cut multiple sizes and rings and just played around with them all until the patterns looked good to me.
