Let’s take a look at the layout;
First, the fun part! Stamping and die cutting! I used a stamping tool for easy placement and alignment of the stamps, beginning with the big elements. These are the Whimsical Wings stamp set from Concord & 9th. Having a stamping tool (MISTI or some such thing) is a must for this as there are lots of bits to align. I used the following Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink colors for my stamped butterfly; Aged Mahogany, Evergreen Bough, Fossilized Amber, Spun Sugar, and Uncharted Mariner. Then I used the coordinating metal dies to cut out the pieces with my manual die-cut machine. Piecing together with liquid glue, in my opinion, provides for a stronger bond.
Next, I used just the metal dies with Lawn Fawn’s Rose Gold Metallic Cardstock to create this lovely metallic butterfly. The rose gold compliments the coral or salmon color and pinks in the Pinkfresh Studio collection beautifully! Again, liquid glue to the preferred strong bond to hold these more “slippery” metallic bits together.
Then I set about constructing my layout with the Good Times collection from Pinkfresh Studio with these as bold embellishments, the colors complimented the collection. This collection has a strong Fall theme to it but also has the warm, cozy feel of being at home. That same hygge feel of the stamps! That feeling of warmth and comfort of a nap, a cat nap! LOL!
