scrapbookig with the new Echo Park

I know there are many of you that have still not had a chance to play with any of the products from one of the newest scrapbook companies Echo Park. I am here to tell you that they have fantastic papers, embellies and their kits are the best. You really should check out their stuff and give them a try, you will not be disappointed. Two of the newest line Everybody Loves Christmas and Wintertime are both wonderful, happy lines that perfectly capture the spirit of the time of year. I was lucky enough to get to create projects using both of these lines, and was pleased to do so. I know if you are anything like me, you tend to have a hard time Scrapbooking holiday photos. I love to do these pages, but by the time the holiday is over and I have my pics I am so tired of , I do not want to do them. So, I have started making a journal of the memories and  important notes that go with the photos and Scrapbooking the following year, prior to the holiday when I am in the spirit. this seems to work out fabulous for me, and I actually get all my photos scrapped. This may be a good way for some of you to work on your holiday/seasonal photos as well.

PROOF:

I started out with a picture of my husband actually putting an ornament on the Christmas tree. My girls always complain that he is a scrooge and never helps....which is true. This year they bugged and bahumbugged him so much he gave in and helped a little. For this layout I cut the half of the die cut from a sheet of Candy Cane paper, and inked the edges. I layered that on top of Trim the Tree paper and Ornaments paper. Then added some embellishments and stickers from the Everybody loves Christmas border strips and  alpha stickers and elements sheet.

.

BLOW UP:

This layout was inspired by the fact that I hate holiday blow-ups and swore we would never have one. Boy was I wrong!  This snowman was so cute that the girls talked Daddy into getting it for them one night at Wal-Mart...against my better judgement...but he ended up looking cute in my front yard...shhh don't tell them I said that.

CHRISTMAS SOCKS:

This layout comes from a family tradition of my husband's mom giving the boys in our family socks and other unmentionables for gifts every year. I love that they all agreed to pose for me...that does not happen often..and I was not ready but at least I still got a shot. For this layout I cut 1 inch by 2 inch rectangles, distressed them and then inked the edges. I used a strip from the borders for the main part of  my title.

ALL WRAPPED UP:

A few years ago I saw some really cute pictures that a friend of mine had some of her kids all wrapped up in the Christmas lights in front of the Christmas tree as they were" attempting" to put the lights on the tree. I really liked the photos and decided to try my own. They did not come out as good as hers but I thought it was really cute anyway.

I hope you have enjoyed these examples of the Everybody Loves Christmas line. Up next is Wintertime. .

Living in Florida, I thought this line might but a little difficult for me to use, but I was wrong. The reds, and blues are great and just made me feel chilly all over..even though it was 90 degrees outside while I was working on these layouts.

FLORIDA SNOW:

For this layout I used the blues and browns of this line, and accented with a little pink to match my daughters jacket. We had a very cold winter last year and one morning we actually had "snow", which was more like sleet but it was the closest to snow my daughter has ever been. For this layout I cut a border strip of snowflakes into individual snowflakes and highlighted them with glitter.

CORNER:

Just because the colors were perfect I used this line fro my blackmail layout of my husband. This summer he helped the band kids with their fundraiser and stood on the street corner collecting money and trying to sell donuts for the kids.

SNOW FUN and SNOW ANGEL:

Both of these layouts are pictures of me as a child on one of our vacations to Buffalo. Growing up in Florida this was a very new experience for me. In this first layout I loved the swirl from the Wintertime elements sheet and had to incorporate it into my layout. I also used a snowflake border and words from the alpha stickers sheet. I also used a journaling card and some stickers to create a little grouping in the upper corner by layering them all together.

For this layout I used a black background and black ink to tie the whole layout together. This is accented with a ton of snowflakes from the elements sheet and I cut a strip form the borders page and highlighted it with glitter for a snowy affect..though it did not show up in the pictures.

Thank you to ACOT for letting me play and have fun with these great products from Echo Park.
