As scrapbookers we work hard to capture special memories. Opening gifts on Christmas morning, fireworks on the 4th of July, birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries are covered in great detail. But all too often we forget to capture those everyday memories. We're so busy snapping photos of others we're often "absent" from our family memories. Christmas morning may be covered, but we never document that favorite ornament that always has a prime spot on the tree. Birthday parties have pictures of cakes with candles, but we forget to share that story about the teddy bear that became more than a gift, it became a child's best friend. We capture the big events, but forget but forget the small, everyday details. The intent of this column is too inspire you to capture those everyday memories.
Share the stories, record an everyday event, and step out from behind the camera. Help your family remember a favorite toy, a day at the park, or a story about yourself. Let them see the family (with you included) in everyday life not just big events.
What's your obsession? Is it a food, a game, an activity? Our obsessions change over time. What we obsess about now is different than what we obsessed about as a teenager. Document an obsession, old or new. Here I've documented my obsession with getting healthy. After years of trying, I finally found that weight training is the key to getting lean, strong, and healthy.
Do you have a special memory or a favorite photo? Have you documented it for you and your family? This photo was taken shortly after my husband and I got engaged. It's always been one of favorite photos from our engagement. Just getting the photo was challenging. It happened in the Fall and it always reminds me of the wonderful feelings I had as I was falling in love.
Fall is one of my favorite times of year. It always puts me in a nostalgic and homey kind of mood. I love the colors, sights and the smells. Here I've shown just a few things that I love about fall. What time of year do you love? What are some things you love about that time?
On a drive back from the beach we found this little farm with fresh produce, flowers, and antiques. I was immediately taken with the quaint, rustic look. I grabbed my camera for photos of charming find. It wasn't a special event or holiday but it was a place that I appealed to me and made me happy. What place has made you happy? Maybe antiquing on a Saturday, an outing to the park, or evening playing games. Record those places and times. Grab you camera and capture the details.

The Ambrosia collection by BasicGrey has a "citrus" taste "that's injected with a zesty finish." This line "blends delicate details with splashes of blazing red, orange and gold." It's a perfect combination for those wanting "graceful and bold."
