Hey Cherries!
Natalie here and today I am using the new Gamer collection by Photoplay!
The Game Over paper stood out to me and I wanted to immediately use it! I thought my bright photos of my kid playing with his new device would stand out nicely against this dark background.
I chose a rainbow stripe from my stash to border a large square of the Game Over paper and distressed the edges of the patterned paper to give nice dimension and texture.
I set all the patterned papers atop a white cardstock piece and allowed a few peeks of the white to show through to aid in allowing a place for the eye to rest and lighten up the design.
I grabbed some yellow cardstock from the Ombre Energized paper pad to die-cut my title in skinny alphas.
I embellished it with the Photoplay Gamer Element sticker sheet combined with some die-cut ephemera from my stash. I added in a bit of journaling about my son and his relationship with screens. I love how this new collection inspired a story I may not have otherwise thought to tell.
I popped up the photos and a couple of embellishments with the Cherry Foam Dots to add dimension to my page.
Another unexpected tool I used a lot with this layout is a t-square ruler! I'm not a particularly neat scrapper who measures much, but I do enjoy the way a t-square can help me get certain elements aligned as I want them! I definitely recommend adding this to your paper crafting toolbox.
I hope you will consider allowing a new paper crafting collection to inspire your storytelling!
