Heat Embossing with Stencils

Next to stamping, stencils are my go-to tool for creating clean and simple designs on greeting cards. Today, I’m going to show you how I create great texture and a background that “pops” using heat embossing.

I’ll be using a beautiful floral stencil from Stamperia called Flowers and Leaves along with my Versa Mark ink pad and a panel of dark gray card stock.

To start, I secure my card stock panel down with my stencil over it at an angle and add the Versa Mark ink over the top.

I’ll follow up by adding white embossing powder over the embossed area and heating it with a heat tool. I love the look of the bright white against the gray!

I’ll add it to the front of a plain, white notecard using foam tape strips. To keep everything clean and simple, I add a heat embossed sentiment from Waffle Flower’s Classic Sentiments along with some flowers from the July Cherry Box to add a color pop.

Stay tuned all month to see what she will create!
