How To Use Journaling Pads In Junk Journal
Pin It

If you’re anything like me, you adore the 6x8 journaling pads that come with Shimelle’s collections. Now, they aren’t like most 6x8 pads as these are mostly intended to be used for large blocks of journaling in your scrapbook. However, I find the most use for them in my junk journal (Smashbook) instead!

I chose the Field Trip collection for this spread and used the Field Trip 6x8 journaling pad to layer behind my photo as well as to create a large journaling spot on the right side of my junk journal spread. I use this journal to share stories and updates about my family throughout the year.

On the left side of the spread, I layered fussy cut books to create a border on the top and bottom of the journaling page that I used as a background behind my photo. Then, I added icons from the Field Trip collection with a space theme on a diagonal around the photo.

On the right side of the spread, I cut down one of the journaling pages from the Box of Crayons 6x8 Journaling pad and then layered patterned paper behind it to create top and bottom borders. I added space and dinosaur icons to dress up the journaling spot. I love these 6x8 journaling pads!
