Making Memories Love Notes 9 comments

Love is in the Air!

Love is in the air this month, and I was delighted to get to play with the new Making Memories Love Notes collection for my Creative Team Assignment! As always, Making Memories has gone the extra mile with ribbon, die cut tags, and an assortment of beautiful embellishments to go along with this sweet line of papers!

For my first project, I decided to make a few Valentine’s for my cute little nieces. My kids are a little too old to go cutesy for Valentine’s Day, but these girls are so girly and sweet and they’re just the right ages to love a gift from Auntie Lala! I was able to find the mailboxes in the $1 Spot at Target and I decided to make them match the personalities of my girls! Amber is definitely into bling and shine…she wants to be a rockstar, so I’ve added some Stickles to the Love Notes Kraft paper to make it shine.  I added some Doodlebug Frills, Prima Bling swirls and then layered on a few Love Notes Die cut Tags, Prima flowers with the Love Notes Looking Glass Stickers for the centers. The finishing touch was a few of the Love Notes Ribbons on the flag.  Chloe’s a little younger and not quite as flashy as her big sister yet, so I made her a more subdued version! The Making Memories papers were just the right weight to wrap around these metal mailboxes and were very easy to finish. For this one, I inked the edges of the Love Notes Stitched Heart Papers, added a few of the die cut tags and tied the mailbox closed with my favorite of these gorgeous ribbons.  I added a few of the Red Foil Alpha stickers and a flower here as well. I have enough die cut tags left over from my other projects that I’ll make each girl a cute little Valentine card to go inside.

Next, I wanted to do a layout to celebrate the fact that my parents will spend their 50th Valentine’s Day together this year. They met on a blind date on Valentine’s Day 1959 and have been falling in love over and over since! Isn’t that romantic? For this one, I wanted to give it a feel of a true Valentine’s day card, so I layered the Love Notes Patterned Heart and Stitched Heart papers over the scalloped Bazzill. I added a few of the ribbons, cut out some flowers from the Love Notes Lace paper, added some Prima flowers, more die cuts and a journaling spot from the collection and a title and Voila!

And to prove that you don't have to just be thinking of Valentine's Day when you see these papers, I made a layout of my son and his girlfriend at their Sadie Hawkins Dance. This die cut paper is so fun and versatile that I decided to cut it for a little more dramatic effect. I added some of the Foil Alpha stickers, a bit of ribbon and one of the Looking Glass stickers to finish it off!

Lastly, I needed a few cards. One is for my parent’s anniversary, and the other is for my nephew’s wedding. As you can see, these papers and embellishments made it so easy to put together some sweet, romantic cards that are perfect for both occasions. I love the way the fun felt paperclips look on these!

Hope you're feeling the love this Valentine's Day as much as I am! If you are, make sure and check out all of these fabulous products for your project needs!
