Please Welcome our February Guest Designer, Anne-Marie!

How long have you been a 'Cherry':  Since about October 2011 – time flies when you’re having fun!

Describe your crafting style: I seem to be drawn to grids, linear designs, and geometric patterns.

Your favorite must have crafty tool(s): I’m going to have to go with patterned paper, punches, and stitching templates. I just love paper! Even when I was a little girl and a teenager, before the scrap bug took me over, I loved stationary. There was an amazing stationary store that sold pretty paper by the pound and I couldn’t get enough of it! I think that is where my love for paper started! I like to use the punches and stitching templates to add little touches to my layouts.

Something new you've learned recently: I am learning how to use Mod Podge on a jewelry box. Stay tuned LOL!

Something you're scared of trying: Mixed media beyond the very basics. I’d love to learn how to use gesso and texture paste and other things like that. I love the look of it, but it’s a bit daunting!

What inspires you to create:  I like to tell (and relive!) the stories of our lives. I like to play with pretty papers and stickers and do needlework. I am inspired by the collective creativeness and camaraderie of my friends here at A Cherry On Top.

What are you excited to do in 2020? We’ll have lots of family milestones coming up, but this is the year we plan to open the Y2K time capsule we made! That will certainly be a scrapbookable moment! It has been encased in a Huggies diaper box, and has lived in the closet all these years. wink

BIO: I live in NYC with my husband and two art-school / film / theater kids (20 and 14 years old). Aside from scrapping, I love reading and bingewatching our shows with my hubby while crocheting, cross-stitching or stitching on scrap pages. (Because we all know I love me some stitching!)

Congrats again Ann-Marie! Beautiful projects. And I agree, Mixed Media is scary! I can not do messy well. Unless it's a messy accident.
