Say "I Do" with K & Company 16 comments

An elegant line of products for scrapbooking your special day!

The Elegance line by K & Company is the definition of elegance through and through!  The papers are gorgeous and neutral enough to go with any color you may have used for your wedding.  These would also be perfect to use for a wedding anniversary album as well.   I got a bit carried away and created five layouts and a card, before I realized just how many things I had made.  Below I will share with you a few tips on how I created the projects.

Our Love

I fell in love with the K & Company Grand Adhesions! They are really gorgeous with a touch of shimmer and sparkle and those pearls!  Just gorgeous!!!  I also really love all the dimension they have!  When I started adding the flowers to this layout I decided I wanted a few more and that I wanted to add some butterflies.  I looked at how the K & Company stickers were put together and decided I could recreate extra flowers by using  punches. Punches are a wonderful scrapbooking tool to have, and a few simple flower shapes did the trick for me.   I simply punched out multiple shapes, some smaller and some larger flowers, and then layered them with double sided foam adhesive.  I finished them off by adding a pearl to the center.  I repeated the same process with the butterflies.   The background swirl frame is a die cut image cut using my Silhouette!  I just love that delicate swirl design!

Forever

I have a very difficult time "wasting" an entire sheet of 12 x12 paper behind another sheet of paper if a large part of it is going to be covered up with more paper.  Once I decide how I am going to layer things, I usually cut out part of the background paper to save for another project and just make sure I adhere everything down well.  If you adhere things down well the finished layout will still be sturdy and you will have the perfect scraps to create cards or other embellisments.    I did just this on this layout.  I did lots of hand cutting on this layout using various pieces from other papers to create the embellishments and border pieces.  I cut the doves from the pattern paper and layered the one on the bottom left hand corner.  The ribbon is actually some ribbon that was used during our wedding ceremony and I thought it added a nice resting place for the title!

The Dress

I did more hand cutting of the papers on this layout too.  Here I cut out the flowers and swirls.  I used the same concept to create these flowers as I did to create the flowers on the "Our Love" layout.   This time however,  I cut the flowers from the patterned paper instead of using punches.

Wonderful Details

I wanted to create one layout using some of the detail shots from our wedding.  I arranged them all in a simple collage and filled in the spaces with embellishments for one of the quickest layouts I created.  Here I used some of my scraps to create the border pieces.

Cut the Cake

This is another layout where I did not waste all the paper behind the larger layers.  I also used my Silhouette quite a bit on this layout to create the scallop strips and the swirls.  To further embellish the swirls I added black glitter.  I also added the scallop heart shape behind the heart on the bottom left corner and on the small one at the top.  I added Stickles to the scallop heart shapes to give them more sparkle as well.  I will share that Stickles are so much easier and so much less messy to work with than real glitter!

Gather Together

Last but not least, I created a card with some of my left over scraps!  I used my Silhouette for the butterfly image and the swirls (the swirls are leftover from the "Cut the Cake" layout.)

I hope these layouts give you some inspiration to create some wedding layouts, whether from your own wedding or some one you know!  Happy Scrapping!
