When the winds blow cold and the snow piles outside the door, there is nothing that warms better than a trip back to summer in our minds. This is the time of year that I generally scrap my summer pictures. While I no longer live where the wintery blasts and storms cover the earth in white, we still get a drop in the temps.
When I saw the Seaside Collection , I had several photos in mind to scrap. About three years ago I took a cruise with some girlfriends to Mexicoand when I saw the cute beach hut papers, I zeroed in on this shot I took on the island of Costa Maya. I first printed the photo in 5x7 but it got lost on the papers and the smaller print did not do the beach huts justice. As much as I like to get several photos on a layout, sometimes only a large photo will do. I found this to be true with the other two layouts I did with this line as well.
Two more of my favorite warm weather memories are our two weeks at Ft. Myers Beach every summer and our Friday happy hours on the river here in town with our friends. I love this picture of my husband and the "pirate' is our friend's son. I just felt that they need to be "bigger than life" and the Seaside papers made this possible.
When we moved to Florida almost eleven years ago, Christmas in the tropics was a bit hard to get use to. WE had lived in the midwest most of our lives and were accustomed to snow on the ground, stringing twinkling lights outside through leafless trees and bundling up in hats, coats, mittens and scarves to brave the cold. But we have persevered and now love our Tropical Holiday. We put a Santa hat on the Tiki god, string lights along the lanai and twist red and white lights around the palm trees so they look like giant candy canes. And our Santa is generally dressed in surfer shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. I wanted a mini album to celebrate our new traditions. The Seaside Collection made this such fun.
Love it all! Great idea to scrap summer pics in winter!
Great job Jules!
