Have you ever received a box of goodies from the shop and as soon as you opened it, you knew you needed to sit right down and play with it? (you know you have ;) ) That happened to me this week. I had a totally different order planned but the day I went to place my order, these new Honey Bee paper pads and Spellbinders Alphabet Bundle hit the shop and I was instantly in love! I was even more in love when they hit my mailbox and I created a layout right away!
I started with my title. There are very few hot foil alphabet sets and this new one from Spellbinders is absolutely adorable (and surprisingly easy on the budget)! I foiled oodles of this alpha set in Espresso Bean Glimmer Foil, stenciled the inside with Catherine Pooler ink Sauna and lightly with Merlot ink, and then die cut. I love this set so much. You can use just the dies and get beautiful letters, you can foil and die cut and get a whole different look. You can even stencil and die cut to get a third completely different style of letter! So versatile!
I am always drawn to Honeybee Stamps paper pads. Whoever designs their pattern papers is a genius. While they don't make 12X12 papers, that is easily fixed up with a Coconut Swirl cardstock or a sheet of solid cardstock for a background. I am more than willing to come up with a nice 12X12 alternative so I can add these pretty patterns to my pages.
For this layout, I cut and layered strips of as many patterns as I could. Once I had my photos grounded with the patterns, I took a stash dive for metal dies to create my embellishments from more patterned paper. I chose leaves and clouds, and then this cute flower punch.
To add dimension and interest to my finished layout, I used foam adhesive on some of the flowers, black Nuvo drops for a striking pop of black, and some sequins from my stash. If you want to hear a bit more rambling about this project...as well as my gushing over how much I love those alphas...haha you can check out the video on my YouTube channel.
Have A Lovely Day!
