Fancy Pants Beach Bum 11 comments

Are you ready for summer? I know I am! Our families' annual vacation to Cape Cod is booked, new bathing suits have been purchased, and I've even stocked up on sunscreen. The only thing left to do is sit back, wait for the beautiful weather to arrive, and take plenty of photos! In anticipation of the summer season, I went back through my summer photos and realized that I had a few more sets of photos that I wanted to scrap. For this month's reveal, I chose the gorgeous Fancy Pants Beach Bum collection to create a few layouts and cards. With ocean waves, palm trees, fish, sailboats and more, this line has everything you need for your summer or vacation photos!

"Summer Splash"

It is what my kids look forward to at the end of every school year...the opening of the pool! Both of my kids turn into fish for the entire summer. When my mom comes to visit in the summer from out of state, her entire visit is focused on swimming with the kids. For this layout, I used some great photos of my son, Colin, jumping into the pool to my mom!

For the background of the layout, I used Beach Bum Sail and Hang Ten papers. I layered several elements from the Beach Bum chipboard, journaling embellishment die-cuts, and the design embellishments.

"Summer Beach Summer Sun"

Back to the beach! I caught my kids in a posing for the camera kind of mood. I got some terrific shots of the two of them making sandcastles and then making funny faces. For the background of the layout, I used the Beach Bum Marina paper and layered it with waves from the Beach Bum Flip Flops paper at the top and bottom. Because I had so many photos that I wanted to use, I cut the design of the layout in half and layered several photos on the top and bottom.

"Summer Memories"

What would a trip to the beach be without digging for sandcrabs? My kids are obsessed with how many they can capture in their buckets on the days that we head to the beach. During our annual trip to Cape Cod, they always seem to find a few other kids who join in with them. In this layout, Lauren and Colin's cousins and a few new friends joined in on the fun!

For the layout, I used pieces of the Beach Bum Pipeline paper, element cardstock stickers,  glitter cuts, chipboard embellishments, and the yellow alpha cardstock stickers.

Little Yellow Bicycle Twig 8 comments

Looking for the perfect scrapbooking paper line to use with your outdoor, nature, or masculine photos? The Twig line from Little Yellow Bicycle is definitely for you! With fabulous shades of blue, green, and brown, you will be amazed at how versatile the Twig collection can be. As always, Little Yellow Bicycle has created an incredible variety of embellishments including canvas, clear stickers, chipboard, decorative edge cardstock and more. For my reveal, I've created a combination of outdoor, boy, and girl layouts and a few cards to give you an idea!

"Mohawk Mania"

What happens when you have two bored kids on a Saturday morning? They play hairdresser of course! (Luckily, without the scissors!) While it was suspiciously quiet in the house, my 8 year old daughter helped give my son, Colin, a fabulous mohawk. Apparently, she decided to use daddy's hair gel and did it the right way. It was remarkably straight and looked good for most of the day. I was pretty impressed!

For the layout, I started with one of the 6x6 Decorative Edge Cardstock papers. About one inch from the left handside, I cut it into two pieces and used it to frame either side of my photos.  I added a Twig canvas border at the top of the layout and used a Twig Clear border sticker on the bottom. I added several embellishments from chipboard, journaling strips to flowers. Alphabet sticker letters are from Pink Paislee.

"Dalby Farm"

I've been determined to catch up on some of my son's scrapbook pages. He is in kindergarten now and I'm just finishing up some of his preschool layouts. Getting there! This layout is about his preschool class trip to Dalby Farm. Looking back, this was such a fun age to accompany on a field trip. The kids were so thrilled to see goats, sheep, newborn peeps, chickens and a peacock. Of course, I took a ton of photos that day.

For the layout, my solution was to create a collage to showcase a number of those photos. The outdoor themed Chipboard Embellishments from the Twig line were perfect accents to the page. I added a Twig Canvas Border Sticker at the bottom with flower and leaves from the Twig Fabric Favorites.  Machine stitching at the top and bottom of the page were my finishing touch!

"Girl Scout Dance"

A few weeks ago, my daughter and husband attended the local Girl Scout Father/Daughter Square Dance. This is the 3rd year that they've attended and they always have a great time. This year, our preparations included a new glittery outfit and a visit to the hairdresser for a cut and braided hairdo.

For the layout, I used the Twig Decorative Edge Cardstock and the Wordy paper as the background layer. I added a 6x6 Decorative edge music note paper, Twig clear border sticker, Twig Journaling cards, and several chipboard and button dot flowers from the Twig line. To accentuate the shape of the decorative edge cardstock, I added machine stitching along the edges of the design.

Little Yellow Bicycle Cupcake Love 9 comments

Ready or not, the month of February which celebrates loves will soon be here! In the shop, you'll find gorgeous shades of pink, red, blue, and green with themes of hearts, cupcakes, and flowers.  Whether you are scrapping about a family member, things you love, or Valentine's Day, there is a beautiful line waiting for you! This month, I chose to work with the scrumptious Little Yellow Bicycle Cupcake Love line to create a layout and a series of cards!

"Love You"

A babies first photos are such a precious collectible. In late December, my husband and kids went to the doctors with me to see our new baby ultrasound photos and to find out what we were having! It was a fabulous belated Christmas gift and the excitement on my kids faces was something that I'll never forget. As you can tell by all of the pink, we are having a girl!

For the background of the layout, I used the Cupcake Love Mini Plaid paper. I adhered the ultrasound photo to one of the 6"x6" Decorative Edge Cardstock papers which I matted onto black cardstock. I layered the Tonal Polkahearts paper, added the thick canvas borders , a die-cut from the Journaling Tablet, epoxy heart chipboard buttons, and the Cupcake Love paper lace stickers.

"Cupcakes Make People Happy"

To create this card, I used a 6"x6" Decorative Edge Cardstock paper for the base, a cupcake cut-out from the Heart Cut-out with Glitter Paper,  Paper lace sticker, and title is from the Cupcake Love Fresh Verse sticker sheet.

How fun is this lollipop paper? For the base of this card, I used the Lollipops Glitter Paper and then added a journaling card from the Journal Tablet. Be My Valentine stickers are from the Cardstock sticker sheet.  For the center of the card, the lollipop was cut from the Heart Cut-out paper and the Sweet sticker is from the Dimensional Sticker sheet.

"Hugs For Sale"

This simple card includes a small strip of Mini Plaid Paper, a Paper Lace Strip, blue circle from the Journaling Tablet, Title die-cut from Cardstock sticker sheet and the large pink heart die-cut is from the Doodlebug Sweet Love die-cut sheet.

"Cupcakes Make People Happy"

A yummy piece of Cupcake Galore Glitter Paper was used for the base of this card! I cut a 6" strip of a canvas border strip to use in the center of the card. I've added several pieces of Paper Lace stickers, and 2 die-cut stickers for the title piece of the card. Tip: make sure to add a small dab of additional adhesive to the paper lace stickers when they are used on the canvas!

"Be My Valentine"

For this card, I've used the green and pink side of the Mini Plaid Paper for the base. I wanted to use the last 6"x6" Decorative Edge Cardstock piece in the set. In order to use it on this card, I had to cut off the top of the die-cut. I added it about an inch below the top of the card and added the Be My Valentine sticker across the top. By adhering it with foam tape, I've added a little dimension to the top of the card. The scalloped piece at the top of the card is a small section I had left over from one of the last 6"x6" Edge papers that I had to cut off in order to make the die-cut fit the card. Finally, I layered several hearts using foam tape to the bottom of the card.

This card was created using the Tonal Polkahearts and Mini Plaid Papers and die-cuts from KaiserCraft's Love Notes Collection!
