If you are like me, you save anything remotely possible that looks like it can used on a scrapbook page, card or project! I save so much stuff I practically have to hide it from my husband because if he finds it he will throw it away. Recently while giving my daughter's room a major cleaning, I stumbled on an old dry erase board she had. It was a mess, scribbles all over, stickers stuck everywhere...well, I just could not throw it away, I knew I could do something with it. So with a little paint, some cork board (which my husband eh hem....had hoarding away) some scrappy papers and some embellishments, and for the pencil holder I used an old plastic coffee can and cut it right down the middle...a new board was created! I am so sorry that I completely spaced out taking a before picture...but here is the after...
To me this just did not look complete so again, the hoarder that I am found an old clipboard and did a few things to "gussy" it up and made it a calendar to go with the corkboard...
I still had one more thing that I thought would work with the ensemble, an old chipboard clothes hanger from Build A Bear...makes for a really cute door hanger....
I was in a real crafty mood this month so I also made a wall hanging for my daughter's room or for her door...
For this project I used 2 of the same scalloped papers. I used one for the back and for the front one I cut the scallops off and cut strips of that wonderful chipboard that we all save from our orders and covered it with matching ribbon to use as a base for the top layer...
I added some bling and some flowers...and my wall hanging was complete.
So the next time you are going to throw something away..think...what can I make with this? There is always something!

"A Beautiful Mess" by Bella Gyspy was the one, paired with "Making the Gradient: Blues Alpha" it was perfect for the look I wanted. There are tons of gorgeous new items in the digi shoppe here at ACOT, and we of course had to use them! Templates, and kits, alphas and add-ons, so much stuff, and all of it ready to scrap away with. Take a peek at what we came up with for these pages and then head over to the shoppe and make your creations!
Here are some pages that the very talented Egle came up with! She used some Bella Gypsy, some Hot Flash Designs, SAS Designs and somethings from the new designer Mouse Bunny Nibbles (wink wink!).
Egle says: "I created this layout as one of my last reveal layouts as a Digital CT Member at A Cherry On Top.
I wanted to showcase the newest kit from SAS Designs, "My Love." I paired her kit up with a template that I altered from Bella Gypsy Designs, "Sketchology: Whirling Dervish." I added an alphabet from Mouse Bunny Nibbles, "Prisoner of Love - KIT," word art from Julie Mead, "Congrats to the Grad Word Art," and embellishments from Crisdam Designs, "ABC." Hopefully, I was able to showcase how one can use a completely new kit and pair it up with both new and older designs and all still work together!"
"I used papers and embellishment from Hot Flash Designs, paired it up with a(n) (altered) template and alphabet from Bella Gypsy Designs, and a month border from Mouse Bunny Nibbles."
And lets's not forget Kristi and her wonderful pages! She used Crisdam Designs on this gorgeous one!
Kristi says: "As soon as I saw the gorgeous new kit from Crisdam, I knew I had to use it with some of my sister's wedding photos. {thanks to our very own Shannon for the exquisite photography!!} My sis loved her shoes and they did a similar engagement photo with their sneakers, so I chose to use that photo here. A nice, simple layout to say "HOORAY! You're married!"
And of course Jennifer had some great pages this week too! She used Danielle Young, Amy Teets and Bella Gypsy on her pages!
Jen says: "For this digi CT reveal I grabbed this fantastic kit, 100 Hearts. I just love the colours in this one, and the papers are all amazing!!"
"For this digi CT reveal, I got a hold of some awesome templates and a cute kit! The template gave the great banner effect and the kit had some perfect colours and elements to showcase my sleeping cats."
So head on over to the digi shoppe now and take a peek at all these fantastic kits! Or click on the images to take you direct to the kits!
