Have some fun with this simple, classic layout designed by Theresa Lundstrom, using the versatile colors of the Blush collection by BasicGrey. Below are the directions from the BasicGrey Class held here at A Cherry On Top on February 24, 2007. This project is easy to create and there are many ways to personalize it to your photo(s) and style.
Snowman by Theresa Lundstrom
Blush papers: Devotion, Eternity, Sweetie, Angelic and Romance
BasicGrey Blush Fibers
BasicGrey [un]dressed Block Alphas and Holiday Chipboard
BasicGrey Holy Cow Rub-ons
Bazzill Cardstock: white and light brown
Heart and snowflake punch
Colorbox fluid chalk: frosty white and dark brown
Black and white journaling pens
1. Use light brown cardstock as your base 12”x12” paper. Trim the Devotion paper to 12”x6”. Place 6”x8” photo on Devotion paper (Note: other size photos will work as well!) Adhere entire Devotion paper (with photo) to center of brown cardstock. You will have approx 3” of brown on the top and bottom.
2. Cut one strip of Eternity paper (approx. 2 1/2") and tear on one side. Note: the lines should be vertical as shown. Attach underneath the Devotion paper.
3. Cut a 2 1/2" strip of Sweetie paper and adhere to the top of the page as shown.
4. Hide the top edge of the Devotion paper with a dotted stripe from the Angelic paper. Adhere Blush fibers below the photo on the bottom edge of the Devotion paper.
Note: I used BasicGrey ribbon instead of fibers on my layout.
5. Decorate the pink Sweetie paper with hearts, snowflakes, brads, and journaling pen.
Note: For my layout I wanted a more sophisticated look to match my photo so I used the scroll stripe from the Angelic paper and attached it to the center of the Sweetie paper.
6. Cut snowman and letters from white or cream paper. Adhere to BasicGrey chipboard. Ink the snowman and chipboard letters with white and/or brown ink. Decorate the snowman. Attach snowman and title to layout on the Eternity paper.
Note: For my layout I used the BasicGrey snowflake chipboard and cut it in half to form a scroll photo corner. I painted the photo corner and letters with pink sparkle paint and inked the edges with brown ink.
7. Print journaling on white cardstock and adhere to layout. Add rub-ons beneath the title.
Note: For my layout I used vellum for my journaling to create a softer, sheer look. I also used a word rub-on on my photo above the title to complete the title instead of using decorative rub-ons beneath the title.
Now you have a beautiful layout to add to your scrapbook album.
