Paisley Days Layout Tutorial

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be sharing my first layout on the blog! Today I am featuring the Paisley Days collection from Kaisercraft and it is just gorgeous! I started out with some American Crafts smooth white cardstock which is my favorite cardstock to use with my Silhouette Cameo. It cuts beautifully every time and I love how white the paper is! The cut file I used is from Paige Evans and it is backed with the beautiful pattern papers in the Kaisercraft Paisley Days Paper Pack. I added foam dimensional adhesive behind my cut file to add some dimension to the layout. Since I was using a white piece of cardstock as my base I wanted to add some splashes of color.

I pulled out some mists from my stash and began adding splatters to my paper. Once everything was completely dry and went ahead and stuck down my layout. I pulled out an old Martha Stewart boarder punch from my stash of punches and punched it out on the same white cardstock. I love how pretty and delicate it look on the layout.

This collection is a must have and could be used for so many different things! I am documenting my sons Freshman Homecoming dance and I just love how it turned it out. I added a few pieces of the Paisley Days ephemera around the cut file and a little bit of journaling with my WRMK typewriter. Here is a look at my completed layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will be back soon with more inspiration with products from the shop! Have a wonderful day.

Time To Shine Layout

Hello everyone, Wendy here today to share a layout I created from the A Night to Remember Collection Kit from Reminisce.  I hadn’t worked with this manufacture before, but I really enjoyed the kit and the papers were gorgeous!

I loved the rose paper that was included in the kit, but I wanted to take the paper a step further, so I chose to fussy cut the roses and create a bouquet to hold the picture of my daughter and her friends.  I used doilies to further the feel of a bouquet.  The Floral Border Die Set from Echo Park added in the sprigs of green; the dies are very intricate, but all the pieces popped out easily.

To mat my bouquet of flowers, I chose the purple stripe type paper ripping the edge of the paper to allow some white area that wouldn’t overwhelm my picture. To spice up the paper, I followed the lines printed on the paper with some silver Stickles to create a shimmery background.  I also added a few dots with my Nuvo Crystal dots here and there to imitate pearls clustered around the flowers.

A title sticker and sentiment from the Reminisce collection kit and white number stickers for the date completed my layout.

To allow my picture to really stand out, I printed a 5x7 and then I used chipboard under the picture to lift the picture.

Do you like to create with a theme in mind?  I find that the pages that I create with a determined outcome/idea always tend to be my favorite!  Thanks for joining me today, I hope you’ve been inspired to create.

Have you tried the new trend of a 9x12 scrapbook page? I love the feel of the rectangle, but a larger canvas than 8.5x11. I make custom page protectors by sewing a 12x12 to specifications to fit!

Here I cut a white piece of cardstock to 9x12, and thi...
