Bright, Happy Projects With Catherine Pooler Products

Hello Cherries! Sara here with you today to share some bright, bold, and fun projects using one of the newest lines from Catherine Pooler

I love to use stamps on my scrapbook layouts! I love the creative freedom it gives you for colors and designs. And, if you are tackling a project where you want all the pages to coordinate, a stamp set is a fabulous way for your project to be cohesive.

I wanted my projects to feel summery and these products were just the thing! I've been gravitating towards bright colors in my crafting recently, they make me happy. And right now during the pandemic, a bit of sunshine and happiness is very welcome- especially in my craft room!

You can see all the details in my video as well as some stamping tricks and tips for using these gorgeous Catherine Pooler products!

Truly Grateful Layout

Hey Cherry Fans! Erica here with you today to share a new layout. I have been digging into my stash to pull some products out before I use some of the new collections. Now these collections are older but still just as beautiful and fun to create with!

I am so in love with all of Paige Evans collections and still have some of the Truly Grateful that I wanted to get used up. I really wanted to use up some more of the 6x8 Truly Grateful paper pad so what better way than to back a cut file!

I found this beautiful cut file from Paige Evans and backed it with papers from the 6x8 paper pad. Using a cut file helps to use up a lot of smaller paper pieces and get a lot of color and pattern to your page. With so much going on in the cut file I am able to add just a few embellishments and get a nice finished look. I pulled out a piece of colored cardstock for my background and added some white splatters around the page for some interest. I have yet to find a good white mist so what I have been doing recently is using white acrylic paint. I add just a little bit of paint to an acrylic block, add some water and mix it up with my paint brush. Then I use my paint brush to add splatters to my page.

I popped this cut file up on some foam squares from Therm O Web to give the page some dimension. I added two black and white photos of my daughter and I. They are sized about 2x2 and I think they are the perfect size for this cut file.

To finish up my layout I fussy cut some flowers from one of the papers from the one of the 6x8 Truly Grateful paper pad. Fussy cutting flowers and images from the pattern papers is a great way to use up your papers too! For my journaling I used my We R Memory Keepers Typewriter and then added a few puffy circle dots around my page. Here is a look at my completed layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! Make sure to stop by the A Cherry on Top shop to check out all the Paige Evans products!

April Guest Designer 2 comments

Please welcome our April Guest Designer, Nicole!

How long have you been a 'Cherry': 7 1/2 years! (Wow... I can't believe it's been that long).

Describe your crafting style: I am a mixed media artist. I like to create different projects so I do not get bored. I scrapbook 8 1/2"x11" layouts, create minis and love to alter things. Although, I am an intermediate scrapbooker, I like to create "simple" layouts/projects as well. I love to play with paint, stencils and stamps.

Your favorite must have crafty tool(s): Personal trimmer from Creative Memories, mini stapler, circle punch, corner rounder, ruler and hole punch.

Something new you have learned recently? I learned how to use Blending Buddies to create pretty backgrounds for my layouts! And I am hooked!

Something you are scared of trying? Stitching on my layouts!! I even bought a brand new sewing machine that is blue two years ago... It is still in the box, unopened.

What inspires you to create?  I am always inspired by a photo or story! Every now and then, I will see a collection that I absolutely love...that inspires me and I will just create multiple projects with the same collection. It's soooo much fun!

BIO: I am a wife and a mom of a 10 year old boy. I live in Maryland with my son Edward, husband Pete, and two cats, Toby and Jessica. When I'm not working, I can be found at home playing with my son, watching shows on Netflix, reading and scrapping!

I'd like to say I am more of a simple/journalist scrapper, but I tend to do a variety of different things. I love creating layouts, playing with stamps, stencils and paint. I've been scrapbooking for over 20 years now (I started when I was 21) and I absolutely LOVE it. It's my therapy...and it keeps me sane. smiley

Here are some of Nicole's fun layouts!

Check out all of Nicole's projects in her gallery, and see some more inspiration on her PintrestFacebook, InstagramTwitter, and Youtube!

Stay tuned all month to see what Nicole will create!
