Scrappy New Year!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\tHappy 2011!  What are your New Year's resolutions this year?  We here at ACOT hope they include lots of scrapping and chatting with your fellow Cherries! As we celebrate another year passing it's nice to reflect on why we do this hobby: at least in part because we want to preserve our memories.  So sit back with your flute of bubbly and reminisce about the last 365 days… and then scrap them!<\/p>\n

\tAd inspiration is about taking ideas, such as colors, patterns, title or keywords, theme, font styles, and element placement, and using them to create your own layout. You can break the ad inspiration down to a basic sketch, copy a prominent design straight from the ad, or you can alter a design to fit your own layout. Most ads are 8.5×11<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>" but you can adapt the ad to fit any size. Remember, this is not a sketch and you are not required to follow every detail. You can use either one or both pages of this ad to inspire your layout. The key is to really LOOK at the ad and find the pieces that INSPIRE you!<\/p>\n

\tThis month's altered object challenge is paper plates. Use a paper plate or more to create an embellishment for a card, a layout or on another altered object.<\/p>\n

\tHint: most paper plates have a coating on one side that resists things like inks, paints and mists. I turned the plates over and love how the colors are absorbed into the plates.<\/p>\n

When uploading your card in the gallery be sure to include the CT member's layout you used for your card. I think the hard part of this challenge will be trying to pick only one layout! LOL! \tJanuary in Ohio is gray, gray, gray. Often the color is considered drab or boring, but it is a very versatile neutral, from soft, blue-gray to dove gray to cozy brown-gray. It pairs well with a variety of colors, so your challenge this month is to use any shade of gray paired with another color. The layout must be at least 50% gray.<\/p>\n

\t<\/span><\/span>For this challenge you will create a layout using a countdown method of items. I will list five different kinds of things (eg. elements, papers, photos) for you to use in your layout. Every month there will be five new items for you to use. And for this month, the theme is holidays. Be it Christmas, New Years, Easter or any other, I want a page about a holiday you've went through.<\/p>\n
