Today I’m sharing a traveler’s notebook page that was inspired by the new Lawn Fawn spring collection<\/a><\/u>. Everything is so adorable and I especially love the little mice. I knew I wanted to use the farris wheel and hot air balloon so all I had to do was find photos that I could use them with! I found these photos from July 2021 with a farris wheel in the background that would go perfectly.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Because using the stamps was what I was most excited about, that’s where I started! I stamped them out using the\u00a0Midnight Catherine Pooler Ink Pad<\/a>. I needed an ink that would not react with the alcohol markers I was planning to use to color them in. You can watch some of the coloring of this project in a short video on YouTube<\/a><\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once I had let the ink dry for a couple of minutes, it was time to start coloring! I stamped on\u00a0Marker Paper<\/a><\/u>\u00a0which works best when coloring with alcohol markers. I used a range of colors of\u00a0Sketch Markers<\/a><\/u>\u00a0to do my coloring. I tried to keep with the colors of the farris wheel in my photos which has mostly purple with some teal and pink as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

When coloring, I start with a darker color and then move to a medium than a light. Then I go over the whole area with the lightest color to get the colors blended. I fussy cut around my stamped images and layered the cute mice on the farris wheel and hot air balloon using foam tape.<\/span><\/p>\n

The white of the background of my traveler’s notebook seemed too stark, so I did some light ink blending using\u00a0Cummerbund<\/a><\/u>\u00a0and\u00a0Pixie Dust<\/a><\/u>. I also created a little grass area for my farris wheel to sit on using\u00a0Minted<\/a><\/u>\u00a0ink.<\/span><\/p>\n

For my hand lettering, I love to use a\u00a0Fudenosuke Brush Fine Tip Pen<\/a>. I created a glittery shadow using a gold\u00a0Glitter Pen<\/a>\u00a0and drew some stars around in the sky as well.
