Fast Five (Fast & Furious 5)

Post by sarahwhithers » Mon May 02, 2011 5:22 pm

Saw this movie over the weekend since the boyfriend was desperate to see it. haha! It was the same original cast plus a few from the later movies as well. It really actually tied in all the fast and Furious movies together in this one. And instead of it being all about the cars and racing, there was cars and some racing in it, but the movie was really based on a kinda heist movie. Which was great as it gave the movie an actual story and plot. Overall it was a good movie, the cars looked great on the big screen, but other than that I'd say you could wait for it to be a rental for ya. Well unless you want to see some Vin Diesel and Paul Walker on the big screen. haha! ;)

Dh's review: It has all the best parts of the F&F franchise WITH a bit of a Ocean's (11 & 12) twist to it. LOVED it!

It was good - we watched it last night and liked it. Plenty of action, good story, and I liked the tie-ins to the other movies (although I was surprised they tied into 2, since in 4 they seemed to pretend 2 didn't exist). As far as I can tell, based on the ending, 3 (Tokyo Drift) is still technically the last movie in the F&F timeline.

I hope this is the end of the franchise because all the loose ends were tied up here and there's no reason to continue. Of course, as I say that I looked it up on IMDB and it looks like they want to make a 6 with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. :bludconfused: As far as my preference to the movies in the franchise, my favorite is still Tokyo Drift (3), followed by Fast and Furious (4), Fast Five (5), The Fast and the Furious (1), and last on the list is 2 Fast 2 Furious (2). I really just didn't like the second movie.
