Use Your Stash Challenge #32 - Holidays

Post by koala1966 » Sun Dec 18, 2011 12:55 am

Welcome to another Use Your Stash Challenge! Challenges 30 – 33 will be posted in December, and at the end of the month I’ll draw a name out of all participants in those challenges for a RAK.

Ah, the challenge of a holiday to a scrapper – so many adorable holiday items, so few “different” pictures to scrap. Yep, it’s true – we love Christmas (or Hanukah, or another gift-giving holiday you might celebrate), but most of our pictures are of people opening presents. How many of those pictures can we scrap? So we collect holiday embellishments but struggle to use them (at least I do, lol). This week let’s dive right in – use at least 10 holiday embellishments on your layout. You can use more than 10 but not less. It can be any holiday – it doesn’t even have to be a December holiday – birthday, Easter, Halloween, 4th of July, Canada Day, whichever one you’ve accumulated the most embellishments for will work here. Post your layout back to this thread by December 31 to be eligible for the monthly drawing.

I don't have my example up yet, we spent all day Christmas shopping. I hope to have something later this week.

Does patterned paper count? I have a pretty die cut piece of paper that I haven't used & it's been sitting around for 3 or 4 years. Just curious........

I decided to dig into my Christmas stash & use it up! Here's my LO:

Image

My 10 embellies are: Christmas tree buttons, Christmas tree die cut, Santa die cut, 2 3-D presents, Believe rub-on, star brad, hanging star, Christmas tag, 2 holly leaves, red sequins, snowflake rub-ons (look at the die cut paper) & of course, pattern paper die cut. This is a picture of my sister back in '57 or '58 with some doll she got. If anyone knows what kind of doll it is, please let me know!

Here is mine. I used 16 embellies, including finishing up some LYB felt stickers. Great challenge.

I embellished with presents, stars, tree cutouts, ornaments, labels, and words.
