Flashback Friday 6-14

Post by Flasher » Fri Jun 14, 2019 8:46 am

I'm going to post two Flashbacks for you today -- one from the late 60's/early 70's and one that is all 80's.  Let me say right at the start that I know these are obscure Flashbacks.  But, they were such a part of my childhood and teen years that I thought I'd throw them out there!

First, how many Cherries remember these little things (either for yourself or your kids)?

The little plastic animals . . . I had so many of those.  They used to be in gumball machines, at checkout registers, newspaper stands.  I was almost always allowed to get one when we went out.  I was fascinated with those things!

The little plastic bell charms . . . I had tons of those as well.  I didn't actually start that collection.  My grandmother randomly picked one up for me one day and I guess because I liked it, she kept buying them.  Then I started.  Then friends started.  The very last one I got was the "I love you" charm in the last picture.  I still have it.  :greeninlove:

I actually remember both of those!  I'm sure the little clear plastic/glass animals belonged to my sister, but they got passed down to me.  The charm necklaces - oh I remember those!  I loved mine!  And I think I saw that they were making a comeback!

I have never in my life seen the 1st set. However, I was rockin' in Kinder and 1st grade with those charm necklaces! ;)

I remember having a few of those first little animals, but don't recall the plastic charms.

Do not recall either of them.  The first group reminds me of the blown glass critters my Mom has but that is about it.

I thought the little animals were blown glass.  I used to love watching the man blow glass at the fairs.

Don't remember the plastic animals or the charms though.

Ha ha! I did have a few if the little glass animals, but the other things on hairbands? Nope. I can't recall them but then I had a toddler boy in the 80s.

The first picture rings a bell.  The others do not.

I remember the little animals, but the ones I remember were glass and I loved them and had a small collection of them. I still have some of them. The second item I don't really remember.
