Back in ICU

Post by blbabe1234 » Mon Jun 17, 2019 10:28 am

Hello cherries. Its me again. We thought my mother was on the road to recovery, a very long road, but recovery nonetheless. Friday she did sleep bit more, but we all thought it was due to all excitement that is her siblings from Wednesday. I visited with her Saturday morning. She was moving her left more and more. She was able to blink, and even move her head/neck and arms when the nurses came in to reposition her. She was helping so to speak. She kept digesting more and more food. She hit about 85% on Saturday which was fantastic!

Yesterday she started out okay. She continued to absorb food better and she even smiled at my father when he walked in. He was about to head home and then come over here for Father's Day dinner when my mom went into respiratory distress. They moved her to ICU and put her on a breathing machine. They performed a bronchoscopy and found fluid in her right lung due to aspiration pneumonia. They were in the process of removing the fluid when they kicked my dad out of the room. By then it was almost 8pm and he headed here to pick up leftovers and to vent a little. It really is taking a toll on him.

Please continue with the prayer, thoughts, hugs. Whichever works for you as we appreciate everything everyone is doing. I'll try to hop on later with another update.

Sorry to hear about this setback, Brandy!  I know the road to recovery is long and filled with setbacks, though.  Praying still for your mother to continue improving.  Hugs!

Oh Brandy.... I'm so sorry to hear of another setback for your Mom.  Hopefully, she can get some good rest in ICU and get stronger.  I will certainly continue to pray for her and your family.

As I read this out loud, my sister said God bless Brandy and her Dad too. She said we feel so badly for you as we've been through this but our parents were older. By "through this" I mean the ups and downs.

Prayers are obviously what she needs most, and she has ours, as does your family. Please keep us posted, no matter how little you can get on. Know we all care.
