Gift ideas and Good Deals

Post by wimom » Mon Dec 02, 2019 6:06 pm

I got a really good deal on some super nice towels at Kohls -- they are thick, soft and extra-long (60 inches), important for the tall people in my house. The reviews complain about how linty they are, and they did fill the dryer screen, but nothing so bad that a couple more washings won't fix. The set was $26.39 for two towels, two hand towels and two wash cloths. Buy two sets, that will put you over $50 and you get another $10 off. Also free shipping if you spend $25 or more. I don't think I normally do well at getting great deals, so I am excited about this -- can you tell???  Here's a link:

Please share your good deals and gift ideas -- especially what I could get my husband who has everything and adult son who says no cash, gift cards, or clothes!

Wow! Those are nice! Love the variety of colors too.

I'm no help here as DH and I don't exchange gifts and with the addition of my newest nephew, my family will only buy gifts for Draven and Jasper.

The best deal I got today was my vet had $100 off on 12-months worth of flea/tick prevention for both dogs and cats. I saved like $300 and Jackson is stocked up for a year on heartworm prevention and Penny is stocked up for a year on flea/tick prevention. Jasmine and Shelby are stocked up for 6 months. Woo-hoo!

I wish we would stop exchanging. I have suggested that or doing just one thing with a dollar limit, but got nowhere. Congrats on your deal at the vet!

Those are really nice.

My DH and I do "small" gifts.  We have our anniversary on the 16th and his birthday is the 28th LOL  My family is really small, both of DH's parents are gone already so I get a few things but I try to stay under $50.  I do buy for a few close friends but again I limit it to $25 or less.

At this point in our lives, DH & I don't really exchange gifts. We will buy chocolate for each others stocking and maybe some small things too. As for DS & grandkids we mostly send gift cards or checks as I gave up shopping and having to mail big packages long ago. We do purchase some little things when we are traveling and will send them with gift cards. I buy for the great-grands - usually just a book or 2 (some I find when we travel).

Thanks for the tip on Kohl's. I went online and ordered 2 of the towel sets in Sand color. Hope they get here soon. I also ordered a couple items for myself.

I got DH and I bamboo pillows from Kohl’s online, so that can be Christmas for us. We don’t get each other gifts either. Get some fun shopping for grandkids and I make both Daughters and Grandson  Scrapbook Calendars every year, which is more like a gift for me to do it !!
Giftcards are high on our list for anyone we buy for because shipping is So expensive!! I do use Prime to ship some gifts for free to kids! It well makes up for the yearly payment and we watch prime video all the time!

A few days of shopping and I've come up with a few things for husband-who-has-everything. First this LED hat for walking granddog at night:

And some Game of Thrones booze with a glass engraved with GOT quote "That's what I do. I drink and I know things."
Still need help for adult son-who-says-no-cash-no-gift-cards-no-clothes!
