Creative alternatives to toilet paper?

Post by wimom » Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:18 pm

I searched on Target for Quilted Northern, to see if I could order some toilet paper. Two options came up, along with the question, "Would these work instead?" And the suggestions were:
- an I phone
- mascara
- plastic wrap
- a marker set
- a bed coverlet
- and a Playstation controller
I actually was laughing out loud!!!

When people tell me "You're going to regret that in the morning.", I sleep in until noon because . . . you know . . . I'm a problem solver.

Let's see.  An I phone, that's going to clog your toilet.  Mascara may hurt....no it WILL hurt.  Plastic wrap will only smear "stuff" around, a marker set - see mascara.  A bed coverlet - well you'd have to cut it up and then, it'll clog the toilet, and the playstation controller?  What kind of game can you play with it?  Operation?   Just wondering....

They only had jumbo packs of the Quilted Northern so I skipped that (no where to put 48 rolls!) but did get paper towels, Kleenex, dishwasher tabs and some other stuff I needed, including a big jug of Germ-X to refill all the hand sanitizer bottles throughout the house. A few weeks ago I was able to order a container of Clorox wipes from Target, too, but still no Lysol spray to be found!

They have been really good about shipping things. I've gotten giant packs of Bounty paper towel and Scott toilet paper and my laundry detergent shipped from them, plus fabric softener, tissues, napkins, shampoo and conditioner, all things like that. I even was able to get a roll of wrapping paper shipped. You are lucky to have been able to get the Clorox wipes, that I haven't been able to get. And yes not able to get Lysol either.

Wow, we have plenty of everything here in SE PA.  Never had an issue getting paper products.  The large Germ-Ex refill bottles and Purrell Hand sanitizer are everywhere.  I found Lysol spray a couple of weeks ago and bought 3 cans.  My brother bought his Lysol spray at Lowe's.  We have all of the other Lysol products available.

having problems finding Bounty (full sheet) and Sparkle (pull apart) paper towels.

Last two times I went to Sam,s Club, they were out of paper towels all together!

Maybe I could find more here if I went into stores but I am trying to shop online and do curbside pickup. I only have been in a store (WalMart) twice since March 16, and one of those trips was to get a flu shot. With the huge surge of cases here in Wisconsin I plan to keep trying to avoid going into stores.
