April 2018 Stamping Challenge - Winner!

Post by blbabe1234 » Wed Mar 28, 2018 10:37 am

I'm sorry if I made this challenge TOO hard! But the entries I did have were amazing! The lucky winner of an ACOT gc is Karen C! Congrats Karen!!! I'll get you your GC out to you very shortly!

Thank you all who participated!!

April Fool's! I'm your host for the Staming Challenge this month!

I'm not a huge stamper, so I really had to think about this one and used Pinterest to help me out. I did a search for stamping techniques and found one that I could do and thought it would be really neat. This month, we're going to use a technique called "Mirror Stamping". I even found a great step-by-step tutorial for guidance.

Here is my take on the challenge

Image

My "mirrored" image is the doggie wearing the sweater.

And here are those rules!
1. Use at least one STAMPED mirrored image using the technique above
2. You may combine with other challenges
3. Due April 30th
4. Please post your work here.
5. You may enter multiple times, but please limit yourself to THREE entries
6. Layouts, cards, or crafts. Sorry, no digi. And you must use stamps. This is the Stamping Challenge

Paricipating cherries:
1. Retiree3/Donna
2. Karen C/Karen
3. Christi S
4.Christi S

Does it have to be a stamp or any mirrored image?

I'll have to look at that tutorial. I've never done that.

Yes, needs to be a stamped mirror image. I've updated my post to reflect that. I'm sorry if I was unclear

Brandy this is an awesome challenge! There are times when you just want an image to face the other way!

Love your sweet layout! The mirrored stamped doggies are awesome!

That's a great tutorial! I've done a very small amount of mirror stamping using an acetate sheet. This looks so much easier!!
I will definitely give this a try.

I've never seen this done this way. I do remember back about 20 years ago we mirrored images but I can't remember how.  I like this! I may just try it tonight.

Brandy, I've tried this 3 times and I'm just not getting the mirror image. It ends up being a blob.

Here are my 3 entries

Image

1. in the top card, the mirrored images are the single chicks, and the chicks with cupcakes.
2, In the bottom left card, the mirrored images are the stacked chicks
3. in the bottom right card, the mirrored images are the chicks with cupcakes.

This took a LOT of practice and my mirrored images have MUCH thicker outlines, and it looks a little sloppy, I think.  I loved learning this technique, and will definitely keep practicing.

Thanks!
