Grow a Garden Recipe Challenge - Art_Teacher #3 *WINNER*

Post by Art_Teacher » Sat May 07, 2016 5:58 pm

I just love seeing how these turn out!  My randomly drawn winner of this challenge is stateless!  She gets 500 points!  Everyone else will get some, too. :)

Here it is...the challenge you have been waiting for!  lol  If you didn't get a chance to answer on this thread viewtopic.php?f=349&t=259015  do it now! :)

No peeking!  Image

Ready!  Okay, you need to create a layout with the items that correspond to your choices.  Here they are:

Type of Garden (pick one)
A.  Salsa Garden -  like mine = create your own background paper from scraps, fussy cutting, and/or stamping and use only 1 photo
B.  Herb Garden  - just herbs = solid paper only and use 2 photos
C.  Flower Garden - just the pretties = patterned paper only and use 3 photos
D.  Whole Garden - all the produce you can fit = solid and patterned paper and use 4 or more photos

Planting  (pick one)
A.  plant seeds early indoors, then set out seedlings when weather permits = create your own layout design
B.  plant seeds late, directly in the garden = scraplift one of the hostesses for NSD  (be sure to show us which layout you scraplifted :) )
C.  go buy decent size plants and put them out whenever = use a sketch (again, show us the sketch you used)

Choose some plants (as many as you want)
A.  tomatoes = die cuts
B.  peppers = chipboard
C.  onions = buttons
D.  basil = tags
E.  oregano = stickers
F.  cilantro = bling
G.  petunias = flowers
H.  marigolds = metals
I.   daisies = pre-designed borders
J.  beans = ribbon
K. squash = punches
L.  lettuce = lace or trim

Add one plant not on the list.  = choose another item that is somehow related to your choice and explain it to us.  For example, lettuce = lace or trim because lettuce has a ruffled edge. :)

Submit your layout to the designated gallery spot by midnight, Friday, May 13th to be eligible to win 500 points, randomly drawn.  All participants will win some points.  Must be a new layout.  Cannot be combined with other challenges.

If you check out the How Many Elements layout, you will see that you can use a whole bunch of embellies without it looking busy. ;) Don't forget about the ability to cluster items.

Are items allowed other than what's listed or are we to just use those things? (+ journaling)

Okra seeds remind me of pearls ... when I was a kid, I loved to munch on raw okra, the seeds are kinda sour. Mmmm ... haven't had raw okra in a long time.  Lol

Here is mine.  My recipe was:

A.  Salsa Garden = create your own background paper from scraps, fussy cutting, and/or stamping and use only 1 photo
I used mostly scraps from an old Crate Paper 6x6 pad and a few stamps

C.  go buy decent size plants and put them out whenever = use a sketch
I used this one from Susan Stringfellow:
Image

And my plants:
A.  tomatoes = die cuts
C.  onions = buttons
F.  cilantro = bling

Add one plant not on the list - I chose garlic. Since garlic has a lot of layers, I layered patterned paper behind my photo.
