Finally Getting A Scrappy Space!

Post by Flasher » Fri Jan 11, 2019 4:03 pm

For years, I've scrapped at my dining room table.  I only kept enough supplies on hand that would fit into an "under the bed" storage box.  I had to plan and work in timely fashion since it was the family meal table.  I once joked that if I was ever good enough to make money at this hobby I would call my business "Table Scraps".

I've decided to claim half of the laundry room as my own.  Right now it's mostly for storage, a place where people drop their stuff when they come in the house.  I've moved everything out from that side, primed it, prepped the floors, and I'm ready to finally make this happen.  Wanna see my color choice?  For the walls, I chose this.  It's called Smoked Salmon:

I also have one wall where the bottom half is concrete cinder blocks.  For that I've chosen the color Wet Coral.

I know everyone's monitors will probably see these colors very differently.   Just know it's a peachy coral color and a darker orange coral color.  :greenwinkb:

I don't know what my spirit animal is, but I'm pretty sure it has rabies.

Great news for you! Can understand how happy you must be.

This year the Pantone color is Living Coral!  You will be right in style.  And, it is totally one of my favorite colors.  I had been wearing mostly blues or oranges. Then a few years ago I was heavily leaning toward coral over orange.

I'm happy with either, but the lighter one will bounce more light.

My dd and my nieces are flabbergasted.  They can't believe I'm not doing a pink room -- since I live the color pink. But, I'm trying to be a little fair to my family that also has to occasionally be in that space.  Just a little fair.  :greenwinkb:

Believe me . . . if it was a dedicated room of my very own.  It would pink overload.  :greenlol:

Oh those are gorgeous colors!!! Glad you are getting a dedicated space. It makes a big difference! I started scrapping in 2000 and was at the dining room table for 10 years until we moved to our current apt and I made a point to claim about 1/4 of our bedroom as a dedicated scrap area. Basically just a card table and bookcase LOL but it's where I can leave stuff out and not worry it's in somebody's way. Not that I really scrap any faster...
Happy Scrapping!

Those colors are very pretty and you deserve a separate scrappy place! I have room but it's not working for me nowadays as it's difficult to find alone time to hide away, so I'm trying to figure out how to downsize and make use of a more portable option that can go from living room to son's room to be with him.

Beware, that the larger your space, the more goodies you might acquire! Enjoy getting that space ready!

Congrats on your scrappy space!  How fun for you to design this space.  You must have a large laundry room to be able to claim part of it.

It's a 10 x 12 room, probably classifies as a "utility room" better than a laundry room.  My part will be 10 x 6.  I have to put up with the side that has the cinder blocks, but that means I also get the side with the window.  :greenlol:
