Cherries, Please.

Post by LoreenC » Sun May 31, 2020 2:24 pm

Cherries, PLEASE if you have loved ones in nursing/Care homes, please watch over them as soon as you can!! I know no one can go in, but think of all the helpless ones that have no voice in their treatment!  My Daughter is still in Florida for COVID-19 testing facilities. She Really needs some prayers right now! She has found some very serious situations and is Really upset!! She cannot talk to me about yet, only a little to her husband ! I am worried and feel horrible about the poor people not being taken care of and no other choice!
please say a prayer for all these people and send good thought for the ones that are suffering!
I know there is a lot going on now, but if you have a minute.........

My sister calls those facilities “old people jail.”  It really seems that way now. Praying for treatments to be developed because a vaccine seems so far away.

My 90 year old stepfather in law is in the old people jail; actually he is in the retirement part not the assisted living.  Frankly, he is LIVID with how they are being treated.

Last week, my oldest client died (at 101).  Again, he was in the retirement part and not the assisted living.  He just used a walker to help him get around a little better - he was a little unsteady but sharp as a tack.  But the coronavirus got in his facility and well, you know....after his kids called I was just absolutely sick to my stomach.  Of course, his kids couldn't go see him not even when he was dying due to now one coming in or out and they are in the risk category too (70's)

Praying for the at risk....

This is so hearrbreaking.  Although DH and I are both 71 and we have dozens of neighbors, relatives and friends even older, everyone is currently at home and safe.  So sad.

It is HORRIBLE!!! My brother in law is in a long term facility out in California and he has been "exposed" to COVID but luckily they test once a week and he keeps coming back negative. And they keep shuffling the patients around. 😡  Scott alone has been moved around FOUR TIMES! It really pisses DH and I off but atlas, we can't do anything. And I feel bad for my MIL because she hasn't seen Scott since end of March. And they keep putting Scott in a room WITHOUT a window to the outside and we're worried his depression is going to kick in. 😥 And he doesn't talk. His strokes really did a number on him.

I know that as soon as this is all lifted and we can SEE patients, I can bet you DH will be on a plane so fast, I won't even have time to kiss him goodbye!

I can’t even imagine! Here in TX I was happy to hear they were telling people to take their loved ones home to care for them if they can. And I’m afraid as flu/Covid season ramps up again it’s going to get worse. So sad.

I hadn't heard that term, old people jail, but I think it is really applicable. Nursing homes are really scary these days. We all need to keep our old people safe these days.

I don't watch much TV, so I haven't heard of anything.  I am so sorry that your daughter and all of those people are going through this.  I will keep her in my prayers.
