Series Ideas

Post by Natalie Dill » Wed Jul 08, 2020 4:07 pm

Hey Cherries!
Half of the year is up, and I wanted to check in with you again to see if there is content you'd like to see specifically from the design team.

For the first part of the year I have done a Mixed Media series. It was fun & and if you all still have techniques you would like me to explain in videos and blog posts please do not hesitate to ask. We splattered, swooshed and swirled, texturized and more. I definitely can keep the MMMU series going if you would like to suggest additional techniques you'd like me to break down.

I was also thinking of using what we have.
So I'm currently doing a series with Sara about stash busting - you know, so we can justify buying more LOL.
But it made think of tools that are unending... do we use them enough?

What about some type of series using our infinite tools?
Stamps, dies, punches, etc.
Is this something you'd be interested in?
Do you have tools/supplies that you rarely use or feel you don't use enough?
Would you be interested in tips on how to revive interest in these tools/supplies?
What is something you have either a ton of (supply-wise) and maybe never use, or a tool you have which you feel is under-utilized and why?

OR

Do you have an idea for a series or a type of project you'd love to see more of!?

Super open to ideas here!
Hit me up!

I personally have a ton of stamps but struggle with using them.  My images never look as good as you experienced stamping pros.

I received the WRMKs Foil Quill pen for my bday and I'm ashamed to say...I haven't used it yet! And my bday was 6 months ago!

This is me, I keep buying so many cute stamps, texture & background stamps. I like the idea of using them on a background to build on. My struggle is using them on a layout I’m fearful of ruining a background and wasting supplies. Especially if it’s my only sheet of that particular paper.  I used a fun texture stamp on last weeks BF but that was my second attempt, I wasted a whole sheet of paper with stamping gone wrong lol.

Love this idea! I have tons of stamps, too, along with stuff to do heat embossing, which I never do. I have a Sew Easy I never use, and a Sizzix with tons of dies and embossing plates I never use. I also have lots of punches I rarely ever use. I need ideas and motivation! lol

I agree. I have such a stash, I love them, but they are more decorative that utilized. Haha

I picked one of these up from Tuesday Morning. (Still in the package) haven’t taken the time to even check it out.

BUH I knew you all would mention the dang foil quill! LOL
I do have a MINC I never use though, which I figure is about the same type of thing...
I just don't know if I have an interest in the quill... although it could be one of those things that I get and think, oh wow this is better than I thought...
What about the Fuse? Have we totally written it off? I haven't used mine in about 2+ years LOL

Okay well I definitely have a ton of stamping and die cutting ideas. I think I will roll with this new series and see what happens.

I’ve only begun keeping up with all that ACOT offers since May. So where would I find your previous classes and these new ones you are endevouring?

I am getting rid of most of my stamps - unused. I do NOT like coloring them in.

do not have a foil or fuse.

have lots of Embossing Folders.

I have a LOT of dies, I WANT to use them more.

Don't lose your stamps!

Okay, so maybe I'm speaking out of turn bc it does probably depend on the types of stamps you have, but my stamping would almost never include coloring stamps with copics or something! I promise!

Ohh yes embossing folders - that's somethingI have not thought of! Thanks!

And I LOVE using dies. This is gonna be fun...
