October Daily

Post by Natalie Dill » Tue Sep 15, 2020 5:11 pm

Anyone participating in an October Daily or similar type project next month?
I'm thinking ahead & I hope to do a small mini album.
I hope I'm not setting myself up for disaster. LOL I have a history of never completing these types of projects. BUT I recently bought a new printer, and I think that will be key - printing at home. Although I do not necessarily plan to have photos on every page. I just have a ton of Halloween products and I would love to just play with my stash.

Let me know if you plan to do an October album. Maybe we can start a support group!  😂 🎃

I haven't heard of doing Oct Daily, only Dec or Christmas. My DD is a big fan of all things Halloween so I'll she if she is interested.
I did start once but tragedy struck and I never finished it. Not much going on in my life these days, so I don't feel enough happens daily for me.
I have thought about a Thankful one. Probably won't start a separate album.
I would love seeing what you do!

I have not heard of it. I am 2 years behind on my December album so I doubt I will do an October one. I do not have enough going on at the moment. Under normal circumstances I would have lots of things going on this fall.

When my kids were little, October was an eventful month full of activities like corn mazes, pumpkin patches, costume parties, church functions, trick or treating, etc.  Those have dwindled down quite a bit and I expect this year to be even less.  In the past, I made Shutterfly albums because I had so many October pictures.  So I could see doing it if my kids still had a lot of activities going on.

The only things we have planned in October are a few doctor’s appointments. Nothing worthy of scrapping. 😁

I'm thinking that most of my "pages" will actually not even have photos. It will be product play. Just using my Halloween stash and making pretty things while getting my art out! I"ll post some examples!

Paige Evans does one every year:

A woman named Serena Bee has an entire FB group about it as well.

A Halloween memorydex could be fun too!

I'm thinking a lovely, chunky mini album. I'll set it out as part of my Halloween decor.

Planning on 6x8 at the moment - it will be chunky and interactive, so probably not pocket pages.

Natalie,

That is a great idea!
My BF is a Halloween fanatic, whereas I am more Christmas.
I have done December/Christmas...and never anything for Halloween.
He has many photos of his various shenanigans and costumes...I think I might just try to do this with you!
It would be a great surprise for him...lol
Have a Wonderful Day!  ~Misty

Top bad these weren't a thing when my kids were small. I used to love doing Halloween pages, and we did the Halloween train ride, and Halloween birthday party etc. so it lasted not a whole month but a long time. And I love Halloween colors, especially the collections with the purple or the teal in addition to the traditional colors. Now that I have teenagers, nothing. I don't even put out what's left of my measly Halloween decorations.

Have you already scrapped all those photos?

If not - there's nothing wrong with making a "retro" album! LOL

And if you have, but still want to play along - just make fun, decorative pages without photos?
A Halloween art journal with those colors you love would be so fun!!

Yes, I scrapped them all, or I don't have them anymore. You're right about the art journal, but I think I would do a different theme if I did one. One that still pertains to our life. Sometime perhaps.

Fun idea. Several years ago we had a swap at Christmas Time and each took a topic / theme for each page.

I like the idea of the memory Dex, mini book size. Something to just play with all the bits of Halloween I’ve collected. I may even have some old pics I could use, if not Halloween then at least some pumpkin patch ones. I might do a few and see how it goes. I love to copy so I will def watch any vids you share!

You have me interested in this.  I am not familiar with how it works though. I am guessing I do a page a day (with or without pics) and it could be either a photo album, journal or ..... If I have the gist just let me know and I will jump in on this one!  I have so much paper - Fall/Autumn and Halloween that would fit in like a hand and glove.

Excited!

Yes!
You've got it.

It can be any format. And the idea is to daily create a page in the theme. It doesn't have to be October/Halloween daily. But the one I do will be a Halloween page a day.
I will keep my format small just so it's more manageable for a daily project.

Have you heard of a December Daily? It's the same concept as that.
If you have not, check out Ali Edwards on YouTube for the idea behind the DD and you can find tons of inspiration.

I'll post some October Daily links:
