John and Sarah (Crum) Stilwell posted Jul 22, 2013
by Justie S.

This is a layout of my great great great grandparents. I tried to keep it simple as possible. Because I'm going to add a story to this couple. They had a rough life and my great great great grandfather. Became I think the first in the Stilwell family to "sue" his wife for divorce. They divorced after about 23 years of marriage. Sarah just couldn't take the poor poverty life and an husband with bad health. Who couldn't find work. She ended up taken her two youngest children with her to Northern Ohio. This wasn't the first time she walked out on John. John and Sarah had 8 children together. They both went on to remarried others. John married his second wife until his death in 1888. Sarah married a widower whom wife died. He was in love with Sarah before she meet my great great great grandfather. But it just wasn't the right time for them to be together. They ended up married and had one daughter together. He died sometime around 1879. They weren't married for long. Then around the early 1880s she meet another man who would be her third husband. She would be married to him until her own death in 1893.

I found both of their grave markers on findagrave.com. Plan to do a 8.5x11 page of their graves with pictures, names and city and state the graves are at.
