This is a layout of my maternal great-grandmother. Both of these pictures are copies. The bigger picture is a formal picture she took. Maybe a couple months before her death. The second smaller photo is of her probably the day of the formal picture was taken. Because she seems to be wearing the same dress. Not sure though. She passed away in her sleep at the young age of just 41. On Aug 25, 1949. Her passing leaved 4 children age 13, 16, 17 and 20. Who still need their mother. My grandmother was only 17 at the time. She mainly raised her younger brother and sister. Since her elder sister had a child of her own to raise. Because two months after their mother death. My great Aunt had her first child. So my grandmother was on her own with her younger brother and sister. My great-grandfather was on the boats working a lot of different shifts to keep food on the table. Plus, he was in his was in his own sadness after losing his wife after almost 23 years of marriage. My grandmother said she was a wonderful cook and very kind and lovely woman. She was a wonderful mother to her children. My grandmother had the original picture. When my mother and her brother had to put their mother in the nursing home. They wondered where all her pictures went. Well we find out my grandmother younger sister took them all to split them up between my mother and uncle. My mother went over to her house one day. She got all the pictures. But realize my great-aunt didn't give her the original picture of her grandmother that her mother had hanging up in her house for long time. I don't think the original picture belongs to her but to my mother and her brother. But she will eventually get the picture one day. But at least we got a copy of it. It not a good copy of both pictures. But it will do.
