Photos of Maddie on the day before her 6th birthday, painting a castle at Plaster Fun Craft. For Brandy's May Fashion Challenge - to use the outfit photo for inspiration. I was inspired by the way the colors in the dress are all blended together and how great they look paired wit the white top. It just made me want to take out the gelatos and start blending colors together. So I got some smooth white cardstock and colored my whole background with them, then blended them together and topped them with glaze. (Thanks for the tip about the glaze Brandy!) I laid the white scalloped cardstock on top letting the edges of the gelatos background show, and cut out a long section to also let the colors show through. I also punched the little flowers and dots out of the white cardstock so the background gelatos would show through them too. Brandy also asked for gold and some texture. I used a gold alpha, some gold foil edged labels, and thin washi tape with the word "love" repeated across it in gold foil. For texture I cut up some of the Little B Corrugated Paper tape.

Journaling reads: For Maddie's 6th birthday Cindy wanted to take her someplace fun, so the day before she took her to Plaster Fun Craft to paint plaster figurines. Maddie had so much fun painting, along with Mommy and Daddy and both her grandmas. She picked a large castle to paint, and had a wonderful time painting it!

This is amazing Barb! Wow! You really took that skirt and just RAN with it! I love it! The way you blended your gelatos is just the coolest thing ever! Glad my tip about the Glaze helped! :) The white "top" was a great idea too - it allowed you to use colored photos and doilies. The gold alphas and washi is great and so is the punch so the gelatoes can be seen in the background. Overall great page! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Thank you so much for doing my challenge!

Wow! Amazing gelato work, Barb! I've been on the fence about investing in gelatos but your work makes me want to buy some right away. Love how you made a cut out strip and the flower punches so the gelato work could be seen. Beautiful page!
