Favorites: 2The Beginning at the End Spiral Photo Book posted Mar 16, 2013
I made this photo book for my nephew and his wife for their wedding. They got married out in Montauk, which is the very end of Long Island, and the theme of their wedding was "The Beginning at the End". Their plan was to get married on the beach, but although it was beautiful all week, it rained the day of their wedding. They had rented a big beautiful house for the week and that is where the reception was going to be, and their Plan B was to get married in the house were it to rain that day. It had a beautiful double staircase and they got married on the top of the balcony with family and friends on the stairs on both sides. It was a beautiful wedding, completely intimate and every aspect carefully planned to have meaning to them. They even went to NYC and made their own wedding bands, and they included friends and members of the family to be a part of everything. I was honored to be one of the chosen photographers.
Many thanks to Laurie (letumom) for giving me the idea of using a Cinch to bind all the thick, double sided matte photo paper pages when I found they wouldn't fit in the Unibind black linen book. I printed out these same pages onto Unibind's double sided glossy photo paper and will bind them into the black linen photo book with Unibind's Photo Book Creator.
There are 72 pages, consisting of 36 sheets of matted double sided photo paper. There are too many pages to show here, but I have a sampling of some of them. I had a blast doing the cover, and was very happy to be able to get a binding wire in the perfect color. I used matte Mod Podge to glue down my cover pages, some of the photos from the book, and to seal the whole outside front and back covers. Tags were pop dotted on so that they would stay in the position I wanted them too, and everything else was glued down with the highly recommended by Sher (sherelm) Scrappy Glue. It worked great Sher! My niece loves stars and all things natural, so that and the beach was how I kept the whole theme of the book. The majority of the photos were taken by me, but many of them were taken by one of my nephews and my nieces' dad, as we were the designated photographers. Pictures towards the end of the book of them alone on the beach together and the sunset scenes were all taken by them.
