The layout deals with a very serious subject, but the comment was funny. I wanted the layout to reflect the comment and the serious journaling is hidden behind the pic.
These are the Heidi Swapp that I traced, cut out(PITA) and painted.
Yes, ODD does spell odd. You were quick to point that out when Dr Joshi gave use the diagnosis of ODD or Oppositional Defiant Disorder. But, this is what you have, NOT what you are.
Symptoms of ODD may include:
Throwing repeated temper tantrums
Excessively arguing with adults
Actively refusing to comply with requests and rules
Deliberately trying to annoy or upset others, or being easily annoyed by others
Blaming others for your mistakes
Having frequent outbursts of anger and resentment
Being spiteful and seeking revenge
Swearing or using obscene language
Saying mean and hateful things when upset
Baby, you’re a textbook case. Which is NOT a good thing.
It breaks my heart as your mother to know that you have trouble making and keeping friends. It’s not that you don’t care about others. You have one of the BIGGEST hearts of any child I have ever met. It’s that you have trouble showing this to others. You don’t realize how your actions make people feel. As the person who receives the brunt of your moods, I can understand completely why other children don’t want to play.
I want you to be happy ALL the time. You put on a great show to hide your pain. You are always the 1st to laugh and joke around. Mommy does it too. It’s a fantastic way to hide from the rest of the world and pretend that everything is okay. But, it doesn’t work forever.
The only thing that will work is LOTS of therapy for BOTH of us. Mommy has to learn what she is doing wrong and you have to learn to control these urges and find other ways of expressing yourself.
We will do whatever we have to do to work through this. No matter how hard it is, no matter how much you fight me, Mommy will NEVER give up on you.
