Dad's Family Tagbook 2 posted Jan 30, 2005
by scrappitydee

All journalling is from my dh's standpoint, as it's his dad's family.

Pg 1 (on first posting) - "To ask for just one memory of my dad is a daunting task. Some of my favorite memories are of our stays at the cabin on Lake Cprus near Winsboro, TX."

Pg 2 - I never met my grandpa, but one of my favorite stories of him is when he and his parents were travelling from ARK to TX in a covered wagon. Grandpa fell out of the wagon and it rolled over his foot, causing one foot to be smaller! {back} Dave newton McCoy Father to William Forney Grandpa to William F., Jr. 1983-(will add death year later as dh doesn't know it).

Pg 3 - Grandma played the piano a lot. She also was totally against Daylight Savings; she wouldn't change her clocks, and everyone ele's were wrong! Very sharp mind to the end. {back} Bithia Magnolia Moore Mother to William F. McCoy Grandma to William, Jr. Grandma to William, Jr. 1891-1983

Pg 4 - My favorite aunt will always be Aunt Anne! One of my favorite memories is when Mom was expecting my sister, Aunt Anne and Uncle Vernon bought me my first bike for my birthday. It came with a siren, but we didn't get down the road before Dad removed that!

Pg 5 - Aunt Marie helped me learn to spell my name. I was four, and stayed confused as she spelled, "double you, eye, double ell . . ." What's a 'double ell' anyway???

Pg 6 - Uncle Johnny, or "Uncle J" as I called him, was like a second father to me. After Dad passed, Uncle J was my main source for the family history info that is so dear to me today.

Pg 7 - I've always thought that Aunt Helen looked more like Grandma than the rest. I met her a few times.

Pg 8 - Gertie and my momma always hungout together; they were the snuff dippers. Gertie wasn't the youngest, but she was the shortest and always getting teased which made her angry. I remember when, after not having driven in years, she got a car. She was giddy!

Pg 9 - Lizzie was a gardner. No matter what time of day nor time of year, when we came to visit she would always be in the garden with her ho, chopping away at the weeds.

Pg 10 (on the first posting) - Aunt Vergie was always the "Soup Queen!" Although she liked tomato best, my favorite was Chicken and Dumplings!

Product Info: (some things are obviously out of stock, like I KNOW SG carries the leaf buttons and the fabric buttons I used, and probably the Rebecca Sower Fresh Cuts I used, and maybe some of the brads also, but this is what I found. Some things on this list are not the right color for what I used, but are the same product.)

Item Number: 133-00335

Item Number: 54-08582

Item Number: 57-03365

Item Number: 72-56856

Item Number: 72-57399

Item Number: 80-70008

Item Number: 70-17681

Item Number: 84-00127

Item Number: 84-00119

Item Number: 232-05203

Item Number: 49-01646

Item Number: 80-70785

Item Number: 92-00978

Item Number: 92-00331

Item Number: 49-22006

I like how you have the grandma and grandpa on the first 2. Also are those leaf brads? Those added a nice accent to the tags as well. Job well done.
