Digi Reveal: featured designer
Featuring the talented Julie Bullock
This week the Creative Team features the amazing
Designs by Julie Bullock. We had so much fun creating pages with Julie's products. Her designs range from cute kiddo kits to chunky alphas and funky frames to calm and serene papers. We are so lucky to have her here at ACOT!
Hope you enjoy getting to know her and her designs better!
When did you start designing and selling digital scrapbooking kits?
It's hard to believe but, it's been about 3 years now. Wow, how time flies.
What is your favorite part of digital scrapbooking?
I have 2 favorite things about digi scrapbooking - one is the lack of mess and mostly, I love the idea of having any paper, any element I could ever want in just the right color & size, all the time. Oh, and who could complain about the 'undo' button. You don't have to be afraid of making a mistake or, simply experimenting.
Do you have a favorite kit that you've created?
Usually, my newest release will be my favorite but, overall I think my favorites have been 'Anna', ' A Folk Cristmas' and, I think my new release coming up will be a favorite, too.
Do you scrapbook too?
Actually, I'm not a scrapper at all. However, I've been a cardmaker for several years. I love all the fun templates that are available now, for adorable hybrid projects, too.
Aside from being an awesome digital designer, what other hobbies do you enjoy?
LOL...as a single homeowner and, a super slow designer , I don't have much extra time. But, I do enjoy crocheting and reading. I spend alot of time entertaining my dog, too.
Show us your newest kit to the store. What inspired it?
My newest kit is called 'It's a Girls World. The idea behind it was to design one kit that emcompasses several themes, where the customer can create several layouts or, a book, with a coordinating look. Hopefully, I'll have a counterpart available soon, for boys.

How do you get your inspiration for your kits? Do you start with your own photos and create kits to fit them, or do you you choose color combinations first, or themes, or do the ideas just pop into your head?
It's kind of a mix. I get inspiration from TV, magazines, etc and, sometimes it's just a color swatch I come across that I love. Often times too, someone will request something and, if I get a feel for it, I'll give it a try.
What are your favorite digital elements to create?
Oh, that's really hard to answer. I honestly don't think I have a favorite element to create. Generally though, I think my favorites are the ones I personally design (or draw out) to fit the specific kit, aside from all the basics you need to include.
Can you give us any hints about designs you have in the works?
Sure. I have a new kit coming out in a few days. It's strong on the cooking theme but, will offer a great versatility for additional themes such as tea time, Mother's Day and general scrapping. As with most all my kits, I like expanding beyond a theme so that my customers can use a kit more than once.
Janell says, " I chose to scrap with her "Sunshine and Rainbows" kit. I love the bright colors and all the cute detailed filled elements."
