Merry & Bright
Come look at the new Christmas line from Doodlebug!
Even though I did a Christmas reveal a couple of months ago, I still had lots of last year’s Christmas photos that I needed to scrap. I have always loved the company Doodlebug. So when I seen the new lines with the glitter covered cardstock stickers and papers I knew that I had to have them. I picked out the new Christmas line called Merry & Bright. It features the tradional Christmas colors of red, green and white but with wonderful glitter added to everything!
Materials Used: (see below for links to individual products)
Santa I Can Explain: I love these pictures of my son, Erik with Santa and I thought the cute Doodlebug papers were perfect for them. I also used some of the new Crushed Velvet Brads and Doodlebug’s Sugar Coated Brads to add to my paper borders. I mixed and layered some of the new Merry & Bright glitter present stickers with some of my older Doodlebug present stickers then placed them at Santa’s feet.
You Are My Christmas Joy: My kids really are my joy but they can be my pain too. Just kidding. Taking pictures in their Santa hats every year has become a tradition at our house. I had quite a few pictures that I wanted to use on this layout so I decided to make a two page layout. I used strips of paper to allow my layout to flow on both pages. This was also a way for me to stretch my papers so I would be able to scrap more layouts. I used several of the Suger Coated border stickers to cover up my paper seams and again I used the Velvet Crushed brads on this layout too. At the bottom I first started with a stitched rub-on then added gum drop stickers to it.
Sweet As Candy: Yes I do think this photo of my kids is "sweet as candy". There wasn’t a lot of room on my page after using an 8×12 photo so I layered a couple strips of the Doodlebug papers and then added two of the glitter border stickers. On the stocking stickers I outlined them lightly with a ZIG pen so they would stand out from the background paper, added 3 crushed velvet heart brads to the bottom corner of my photo, several crushed velvet brads lined up on the bottom of my layout and then just a couple of glitter heart stickers on my title letters. This was a fast and fun layout to do but most of all I love how it turned out.
Ha Ha Ha Santa: For this layout I used a piece of the Ladybug Crushed Velvet Cardstock and the Limeade Filagree Accent Paper with the Merry & Bright papers. All of the Ladybug and Limeade Doodlebug papers and cardstocks work perfect with the Merry & Bright line.
Cards: Here are two cards that I created using some of my leftover Doodlebug Merry & Bright scraps.
