Digi Scrapbooking Using The Color Orange 7 comments
Orange You Glad?Posted by FairyMouseMom This week the Digital Creative Team focused on using orange as a predominant color on our reveal layouts. I looked up online about the meaning of the color orange and here is some information that I found at About.com.
"Flamboyant and Energetic :
Orange is vibrant. It's a combination of red and yellow so it shares some common attributes with those colors. It denotes energy, warmth, and the sun. But orange has a bit less intensity or aggression than red, calmed by the cheerfulness of yellow.
Using Orange:
If you want to get noticed without screaming, consider the color orange — it demands attention. The softer oranges such as peach are even friendlier, more soothing. Peachy oranges are less flamboyant than their redder cousins but still energetic."
Take a look at the layouts that the Creative Team members came up with using this vibrant color.
Be Yourself by FairyMouseMom (Egle) Here I used orange as an "attention-getter" when I paired it with black. These would typically be considered colors that would work for Halloween, but this is obviously not the case here.

Anne Frank by Keling (Sara) Sara wrote: "Orange isn't necessarily one of my favourite colours, but I love it mixed with black and turquoise. Here's my son, Tommy, with a statue of Anne Frank, outside the Frank House in Amsterdam."
Bird Seeing by sarahwhithers (Jennifer) Jennifer says: "Orange is actually one of my favorite colours to use on a page, and I figured what better subject for this reveal than my orange cat, Sebastion! A picture of my cat Sebastion eyeing up a bird that was on the roof."
8 Days A Week by janello (Janell) Janell wrote: "They say that "orange" is the new pink! Well I don't know about that, but orange is a very fun and trendy color right now. I love to scrap with it, it always feels fresh and eye catching no matter the hue. Go orange!" Airborne by Smiley-Scrap8 (Ronny) "Orange happens to be one of my favorite colors so it's easy for me to work with. This may sound silly but I think my kids look good in the color orange and since they are the main focus of my pages it's a color I use a lot. Try it out!" says Ronny.
ice cream man by MamaK321 (Kristianne) So, to summarize the looks of the layouts, orange can be paired up with black for a punch of color, with blues for the complementary look, with neutrals or different shades of itself for a neutral look. Knock, Knock! Who's there? Orange. Orange who? Orange you glad you stopped by to see our reveal this week? Here are some of the digital kits that are available in the Digital Shoppe that were used in this week's reveal.
