Meet January 2014 Guest Designer – Lisa
paper crafting inspiration from acherryontop.com
Screen name: ScrappyDistractions
First Name: Lisa
Favorite Color: Blue
I mostly create: Traditional layouts. I created a lot of cards for about a year but have gone back to creating layouts almost exclusively. And while the idea of digital layouts is intriguing, I spend SOOOOO many hours at work on computers that it is nice to get away from it. Besides, I adore digging into my ACOT orders to see, touch, and play with all the goodies!
Guilty Pleasure: A Cherry on Top, of course! In scrapping, Thickers are far and away my downfall followed closely these days by wood veneer and enamel dots. Beyond scrapping, I find myself nearly addicted to Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino (the bottled kind), sleep, and simply enjoying being on the amazing and whacky trip of life that my husband and daughter have brought me on.
Bio: I live in Frisco TX (Dallas suburb) with my super-supportive, funny, wonderful, and quirky husband. We are blessed to be allowed to share in the world of our talented, brilliant, opinionated, stubborn, wonderful, soccer star, music-loving 14-yr old daughter. Added to the household are two large (and noisy) dogs and two cats. I am a more-than-full time digital marketing analyst for many different clients requiring a lot of travel.
I started scrapping in 2003 when I was between jobs and decided to create a memories album for my grandfather’s 85th birthday. Back then, scrapping was only an occasional activity but then my interest really took off about two years ago and has grown exponentially since (with no shortage of help from ACOT). I’m always amazed to look back at some of my first pages to see how vastly different my style is (not to mention the quantity and variety of tools, techniques, and elements I now use).
While I have a blog (ScrappyDistractions.blogspot.com) I admit to not keeping it up to date – just not enough hours in a week. I was on the design team for the Sketches4All forum for about a year and have been guest designer for several other forums and blogs including the SoulScrappers forum. I love participating in ACOT’s challenges as I find they constantly push me to do more, add that extra touch that I hadn’t thought of, use products that would otherwise be forgotten, and give me great inspiration when seeing everyone else’s interpretations.
