Grid Design Layouts

A grid design scrapbook layout is one of those classic and timeless designs. They can be easily repeated over and over and look different each time. Today Rachel and Jess are sharing layouts they made using the Good Stuff collection and a Simple Stories Page Template. This reusable plastic template helps you to design a layout in minutes. Use the outside edge to trace and cut your scrapbook paper to create a mat for your photos. Next, use the openings to crop and place your photos on the mat. Create multiple looks by rotating the Page Template and adding journaling to one or more of the openings using the Journal Templates.

Rachel started this page by splattering some white acrylic paint on my background paper. Next, the papers and photos were cut to size and laid on the template. After gluing them down, the template is removed and voila! Adding embellishments that overlap the grid shape help to create a more interesting page because it will look less boxy.

Just because this page template has a block of 4×4 squares does not mean that you have to use the full grid. Jess used only the first 3 rows to create this page. She tried to add dimension by using foam tape under each layer and distressing the edges of the paper on each layer. This page has a lot of white space which helps balance all of the patterns happening inside of the grid. Some butterflies and flowers are added in the bottom corner of the grid and popped up on foam dots.
