Harry Potter Album

Hey friends! Natalie here, and I’m using the 49 & Market Black 2-inch Portrait Foundation Album to build a magical mini album to document a birthday trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
Check out the full process video:
I chose this album because the side is not enclosed; therefore I feel like it allows me to cram it as fully as possible! It’s nice and sturdy, but also very adaptable to alterations. To begin, I chose papers for the front, back, and spine. I inked them and layered them. Before I stuck the inked and layered paper collections to the front and back, I added a velvet ribbon to the front and back to allow for a bow to be tied to close the album
I used some wax stamping on the spine to add some magical embellishment. I also used my Crop-A-Dile to add an eyelet on the spine for a jump ring and future addition of a charm. I love to make my albums as interactive as possible!
For the first inside section I completed, I used a 49 & Market Foundations Open Black Waterfall set.
I layered all patterned papers on solid cardstock and inked the edges. I used wash tape and border stickers on the long piece used to hold the waterfall closed. I added a 4×4 pocket card from Echo Park Witches and Wizards as an additional turning element on the front of the waterfall.
The first flip contains a few photos of the surprise reveal that we were headed to Universal Studios. I used the back side of the waterfall enclosure to house my journaling.
I used the World Traveler Stencil from Vicki Boutin to add some color behind our travel day photos and some Vintage Artistry Everywhere rub-on transfers helped with the old-school wizarding vibes.
On the next flip, I did heat foiling with the Waffle Flower sunburst plate and Opal Spellbinders foil. I was surprised to learn this foil is translucent, so beware to immediately apply it to your foil plate as soon as you cut so you don’t apply it on the incorrect side and color your plate! This was a lovely background for our photo in front of the globe, and I fussy-cut a 3×4 pocket card from Wizarding 102 by Reminisce for the embellishment.
I used more paper from Wizarding 102 on the page about number 12 Grimmauld Place, along with a fussy-cut Slytherin snack and some title stamping.

I heat embossed some gold stamping in my favorite Metallic Gold Sparkle from Wow of a London skyline to add to the UK vibe before entering Diagon Alley.

This brick-patterned paper is from Wizarding 101, the first themed collection of this sort by Reminisce. It was so perfect to document our entrance to Diagon Alley! The Vintage Artistry ephemera in Natural gave me perfect tickets to help embellish alongside Signs and Symbols Enamel stickers by Paper House Productions.

Lastly, I included a small envelope with hidden journaling from 49 & Market and some cute travel ephemera from Memory Box Spellbound.
I had so much fun creating just the beginning of this interactive travel album. I hope you’re inspired to document a small trip or event in a different form. Much more to come from me in this magical adventure book.
