My mom started paper crafting/scrapbooking about 20 years ago, I wasn't really into it back then. I tried but I was always worried I would mess something up and it wouldn't be as perfect as what I saw other's making. Then fast forward to summer 2023, I used to work with Resin but then moved into a new house and just don't have a place to work with it anymore. Plus having to wait 24-72hrs for the project to complete was just playing hell with my nerves lol. My mom is still paper crafting, but since we're both sick we don't do and go as much as we did 20 years ago so there's nothing to really scrapbook anymore. She makes cards for nursing homes, hospitals and friends.
I started working on art journals in late spring/early summer of 2023 after years of watching Vicky Papaioannou with my mom. They've been friends for just about 14 years. So I got a lot of tips from Vicky when I started on how to create pages like she does, but the MOST IMPORTANT TIP she's given me: "It's your art journal, it's a reflection of yourself, nobody else has to look at it if you don't want them to. If you think it's perfect, then it's perfect. Don't try to make it perfect for someone else, make it perfect for yourself, and always remember to have fun!"
Vicky and my mom Angie are my greatest paper creations inspirations. If I don't know how to use something, I either go to Vicky's YouTube or ask my mom.
But be brave with your art, it speaks the loudest when we're the most quiet, and it leaves a lasting impact on those who are searching for answers but don't know the questions.
