About

Important dates: May 22nd - My birthday
July 29th - My Anniversary (21 years and still going)
April 12th - The Day I Became a Mother

Although I am a teacher by profession, and even went on to earn/receive my Masters degree.... I decided to become something I love with all my heart! I am a stay at home mom that is currently homeschooling. Now, if you would have asked me years ago if I would ever homeschool..I would have laughed out loud..followed by a "no way"!! However, doors opened for this adventure and I love every day being a mother and teacher to our only child. She is growing up so, so fast!

You see, I know that I am a very, very blessed woman. After battling infertility for over 5 years, and after many losses, we were finally blessed with our daughter. She is the reason I love to scrap. I have to admit, I take a picture of everything that she does. Everything!!!

Album size: 12x12 or 7x7

I use Creative Memories Albums primarily.

Color choices: Since I have one dd, I do tend to lean towards the pinks, purples, pastels and such. However, since it also seems like I am always working on a Disney album....I love the blacks, cranberry reds, golden yellows and whites!

Kids: Heidi

What ages: My big girl is now 13!

Pets: My second daughter, a precious , precious toy pomeranian! Love her!

What kind of layouts are you going to be working on in the future: Wow! Now this is a loaded question! Let's see...like I said earlier...it seems like I am always working on a Disney album (as I am right now too), of course I remain on my dd's album which is including everyday events and our field trips we take together like NYC to the Radio City Music Hall and American Girl Place, camping, Lancaster, etc.

Do you have a sizzix: Yes!

Do you like cute stuff: I love cute stuff!

Heritage: Yes, I like Heritage yet have not used much with it yet.....

Do you use diecuts: Yeah... I use them now and then...

Lumpy or not lumpy: I DO NOT like too lumpy.....little tiny lumpy , I can handle....but that is it.

Anything you won't use: I am a pretty standard paper scrapper. I am not into anything that will make indentations in my albums, heavy stuff, zippers, ...stuff like that.

Favorite designers: I like just about everything!!! Doodlebug, K&Co., Bo Bunny... I am not a big fan of pattern papers that looked "tye-dyed"....

Eyelets: I like them but still have not mastered doing them I am much more of a "Brads" type of person! Love Brads!

Brads: Oh yeah! I want to start collecting different types of brads for different occasiions...like trees for Christmas...Mickey ears, ghosts, etc.

Metal: Depends....how lumpy are theses?

Stickers: I love, love , love stickers!! I am a sticker a holic! I have to have a sticker for every theme I scrap.....but they have to be scrappy safe!!

Do you stamp: I like to stamp. I have some really neat stamps but I do not seem to take the time to stamp like I want to.

Chalk: Never used it but would like to try it!

Ribbon (unprinted/printed)? Yes..I like ribbon!!!

Patches? No

Metal clips? Yes

Wooden embellishments? No

Library pockets/cards? Just got this in the Sizzix and I like them a lot...especiaaly the mini file folders!!! I love them too!

Buckles (metal/plastic)? No...sounds too lumpy to me.....

Zippers? No

Twist ties? Don't think so....

Twill (unprinted/printed)? Yes

Fabric? Not really

Bottlecaps (plain/printed)? No...no..no...way too lumpy for my albums!

Rick Rack? Yes...It works on some layouts...

Canvas embellishments? Not sure what this is....

Do you use journal boxes on a regular basis? Yes, very much!

Do you use borders on a regular basis? Yes

Do you use titles on a regular basis? Yes

Do you use embellished tags on a regular basis? I like them but often do not make them due to the time factor......

Do you use paper piecings on a regular basis? again, the time factor gets me.....

Do you use shakers on a regular basis? I made a real neat shaker (my first one) using my dd's first teeth that feel out! The shape of the shaker is a tooth and inside are her first three teeth that she lost. This is one of the things that I am proudest about. Except I can not put it in my albums yet because my dd still ***BELIEVES***

Do you use deco squares on a regular basis? Sometimes

Do you use serendipity squares on a regular basis? Ummm, what's the differnece between these and deco squares?

What is your greatest scrapbooking weakness? Buying too much? Stickers...hands down!

What is your favorite paper theme (i.e., floral, stripes, plaid, fun themes, solids)? I love girlie stuff, Disney stuff, not really into flowers a lot. I use pattern paper mostly as decoration/borders rather than to scrap on top of.

Other than time and money (which we all need more of), what is your greatest scrapbooking challenge? Once I put my scrappy stuff down, it seems very hard to pick it back up and get to "rolling" again. Ideas are more fluent when you stick with the project at hand. I do have a self conscious issue that my stuff does not compare to other people's layouts...which is why I go for the cardstock, pattern paper and such in swaps. When I get the swaps back...I scrutinize everything trying to learn from what I have in front of me so that I can broaden my horizons.
