I was searching for some thread (don't even remember which one now that I got distracted lol). I found a couple of very amusing old threads...one from 3 years ago about how old was your child when they starting taking baths on their own, another had started a thread updating on a move. What I was so amazed by.....lots of names there with thousands of posts (like approaching 30,000 even) that I have never seen before!! It makes me wonder what happened in their lives that they posted so much, and then haven't really been around. I know I'm not the most experienced here, but I've been around long enough to recognize a lot of names. Makes me sad about where they went!!
I started here in 2008, and there seemed to be a lot of drama on the board, and then ....chirp chirp...It just went away. I kinda miss it. It sure was busy then, but the ladies here now, are definitely much nicer! Well, I mean the ones that are still here from back then are the nice ones that we want to keep around. ugh. Am I putting my foot in my mouth again? (as always)!
I just kinda thought that maybe the economy got bad and all those people had to go back to work. but who knows.

People definitely come and go around here, even ones who have been here forever. Life changes and I guess the board doesn't fit in with the changes all the time. Scraptag is right about the drama, though. We have worked very hard to make this a drama-free place!

Some drama went on...but mostly it was Facebook. Lots of people went there and never came back!
I wonder, sometimes, if we ever give God a headache.
I'm glad the drama is gone. It made me very uncomfortable and chased me away for a bit. I miss some of the old-timers, though.

I know; its sad when some of the ppl you get to know just fade away.... hopeftully some of them will come back :hint, hint:

That is interesting.. But I am glad this place is drama free
I mean how can you be mad at a place called a cherry on top! lol seriously, each post you get a point how can you still be mad?? this place is just way too fun, and even when I don't get on in a while I still think about the cherries!
I joined in 2008 and have been on and off the board at different times. For awhile there, I was on every single day, making loads of posts and layouts. Lately I haven't had much time or desire for posting or scrapping, but I'm sure it's just a phase. I do enjoy the people and activities here and love that I can come here anytime and chat with the friends I have found here.
Mary Love is all around you.

Interesting question. Who knows. So many things happen in life. Too busy, back at work, no longer a scrapper (yes, that can happen!), etc. I like drama free, tho'.
There was a pretty large group of gals that posted (i was one) and there was some drama, and that was around the time when Facebook became very popular. So, it was kind of both. Plus, I think some of them stopped scrapping. People fall in and out of hobbies all the time. I know for sure that Amy (moodyonceamonth) who posted a ton, no longer scrapbooks, but she still lurks around here sometimes, so maybe if you post to her, than she'll come back (to cause trouble, no doubt
). I have no idea why MABUG jumped ship, but I know she's on f/b a lot too.
ACOT is a "scrapping network" and f/b is a "social network", so maybe people that weren't doing as much scrapping anymore felt that f/b was a better fit.
Now me......I've been on here since 2003. When I started scrapping, he though, for sure, it was a passing hobby for me....and I'm still here 7 years later.

I used to be a "celebrity cherry", but now I'm in re-hab...... Holy Carp!
I was on alot more a few years back when all the oldies were on. I was a little intimidated at first because I was a newbie, but found the drama entertaining! Most of those ladies are on FB as am I.
I find it easier to post things on there where your posts are read by people who have chosen to be your friend. I rarely start a post on this site but do respond. It just seems harder to get to know a whole new set of people. I still like checking out the reveals by the CT and following the crop classes and of course, ordering tons of supplies, even though I'm not scrapping as much anymore.
Moody was funny as was Flapdoodle and evilqueen and I loved keeping up with Dianagirly and her lovely layouts. I still get to see them on FB!

Well, I don't miss the drama at all.
This is a peaceful place to be now.
There were some talented people who posted who no longer post. That's sad.
But people move on.............

Queen Mum - Grammy to Princess Bump (Lisa Giann) and Princess Bean (Gia Bella)
That's ironic that you mention those 2, because they were 2 of the ones that caught my eye. I know evilqueen and dianagirly are still around, and forgive me but I can't remember which other names Jan mentioned. And I also have dropped scrapbooking for awhile before....when i was going thru my divorce. I must have started posting after all the drama, because I don't recall that. And i was late to the Facebook scene...I refused to join for a long time...It wasn't until my son went to Korea that I joined as a way to keep in touch with him. Turns out he calls me more often than he posts on Facebook anyway! lol But it remains a way to keep up with my nieces and nephews as they scatter across the country. I guess it's just a consequence of changing lives, as was mentioned. I hope none of you go anywhere now! and that you all still welcome me lol.baltoscrapper wrote: I know for sure that Amy (moodyonceamonth) who posted a ton, no longer scrapbooks, but she still lurks around here sometimes, so maybe if you post to her, than she'll come back (to cause trouble, no doubt). I have been around since the beginning of the original message board. I come and go. My passion for scrapping has really waned over the last year and a half. Several things are the root of that. I am slowly getting my mojo back and desire to scrap.
Drama will kill the joy for the most devoted even the lurkers. Don't need it and won't get caught up in it. Life is too short.
The creative team here really works hard to bring new ideas and techniques to us not to mention the hard work and planning that goes into the crops.

When did the message boards start? I cruised the shop here many years ago, but at the time i shopped at Kristin's bricks and mortar store and never really ventured into much of anything else. I don't remember there being message boards, but I really didn't look either.Indy Scrapper wrote:I have been around since the beginning of the original message board. I come and go. I found the earliest message from the old message board to be dated May 28th, 2003.

I have been here since 2006 and I know there was ALOT of drama that went on for awhile and people left...I wasn't really part of it, so not really sure what happened...ut I know diana kinda comes and goes but she is having a hard time with her ex....and i only see maBuglet on fb and I think Amy (moodyonceamonth) has her own photography business....that is about all i know
~Angie~I have been on the MB since almost the very beginning in 2003. I have come and gone due to drama from years back, lack of time on the computer with work and family and now health issues. I do check in as much as I can but don't always post. I've often wondered what happened to a lot of the gals from the "early years".
Take care of you,
Deb

Well there was a group of us that had our first get together in the spring of 2004 after first meeting here at "Stickers Galore" We called ourselves the Midwest Stick Gals! Several in Ohio, me from Indiana, and two or three from Kentucky. I think the board started the year before. I can remember getting an email with a link to the message board.
