When Mark was Five
by EyesForBeautyAug 26, 2012
There is quite a miscellany of photos in the 1967 folder on the CD of scanned 35mm slides that my late Dad gave me in 2005. (The photo I scrapped with "Family Time" was one of them). Two of them, of my five year old brother on his first day of school were perfect (subjectwise as well as colorwise) to scrap with the newest kit "Wheels on the Bus" by Hot Flash Designs. TY, Marci, for such a terrific kit, and TFL!
Artistic notes:
The folder (on the CD) included a few other stand-alone shots of Mark that I wanted to scrap. For the two I chose I decided to use that line drawing (with find edges filter) and wet media brush painted mask technique that I have been using lately. I think it is a nice way to incorporate extra photos that don't relate directly to the others--keeps them separate but still in view, kind of a visual cue that more than one event is being scrapped here.
I constructed the frames myself using a gray-scale frame from another HFD kit and with papers that I created using those in the kit as a starting point. The dotted print is from another kit, but superimposed on one of the solids in this kit. I changed the white in the gingham to a lighter shade of red. I used the kit's stripe to make a plaid.
