Sweet Concern

by ElsieBJan 31, 2006
This is my sample for the "Everything Old Is New Again" buttons challenge. This is a conversation I had with my son recently. After we had it, I immediately wrote it down so I could scrap it later.

A bedtime conversation
January 2006

Thomas: I'm a little sad about you.
Mommy: Why?
Thomas: Because you never win a race [with Rosie].
Mommy: Can I tell you a secret? I let her win.
Thomas: Why?
Mommy: Because she's little and I want to make her happy, so I let her win the race.
Thomas: Next time I'm going to let YOU win, because you never get to win the races.

Love that story and really love that boy. Your mix of colors and patterns here is fabulous, and those buttons--omg--it's Granny's button jar! So rich with texture.
